Having been a frequent traveler to Lancaster County for more than thirty years we've tried many of the buffet or family style restaurants in the area. Friday evening we decided to give G+P a try. The only item that was truly homestyle was the fried chicken. The other two dinner meats were some kind of baked white fish and some processed ham. The mashed potatoes were runny, the lemonade tasted like medicine. For $18 a person we could have done better at KFC.

Great Food! Great Service!!!

If you like good home cooking this is for you!!!! It is served family style so if you do not like to pass the bowl to someone you do not
know, take the whole family so you fill up the table.
You can eat as much as you want and the variety is tremendous.
The best part is its all homemade from the bread to the apple
butter.
I found this to be the best family style dining in the area, but it is closed on Sunday.

I went with my wife and two small children to this restaurant for lunch. It is family style, and they place you at a table with up to eight other guests. (12 total). The meal is served family style, there was plenty of food, and the plates were refilled without having to ask. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was not up to my expectations. In an area known for home cooked meals and homemade desserts, we got average baked ham, baked pollock and fried chicken. Nothing poor, but not the "dutch home cooking" we were expecting. The desserts were a selection of 5, of course always including the "shoofly pie" germaine to that area. The other four were jello, tapioca pudding, ice cream, and a lemon pie. The Lemon pie was no better than the one I can get in the supermarket. Jello is jello, and the ice cream was better than average, but not fantastic. The Tapioca was quite good, but that was the stand out item of the meal. My almost 3 year olds were free, so lunch cost us $18 each plus tax and tip. My advice: drive down the road to the Texas Roadhouse Steak restaurant. You'll get more choice, much better food, and pay the same. (I know, I ate there the next day)

We had a great experience at this restaurant - the food was good and very tasty. Although it wasn't excellent value for money, the experience was interesting. It is very much a lottery who you are on a table with. We had some very interesting conversations, but the table behind us was silent! There was also not much for the vegetarian in the party to eat other than salad, corn and mashed potatoes.

Our family of four found Good and Plenty to be a significant disappointment. #1) As a professional foodservice director, I recognized many of the items served for the pre-prepared or value added items that they were. I thought I was getting something authentic, not something dumped from a can or pulled out of a box and thrown into a fryer. #2) While not the restaurants fault, we had the worst possible family to share our table - just gross. #3) This is what really ticks me off. You pay up front. We paid with plastic as I would dare say most people do now when traveling. We were not given an opportunity to put the gratuity on the card. I mean they will not let you do it. When I realized that I did not have enough cash for a fair gratuity for our server, I approached an individual at the cashier stand who was either a manager or owner. I asked if an ATM was available or if I could access cash through my credit or debit card through their terminal and I was told "No, we can't do that. The nearest ATM is at the WaWa Station (a convenience store) 9/10th of a mile from here, you can be there and back in under 5 minutes". Then he turned his back and walked away. So poor Donna, our server got stiffed, not because she gave back service, but because this business set up their business practices in such a way as to require a customer to have to leave the premises, take their car, travel and return in order to do something they should be willing to facilitate for their customer. When I get that kind of attitude from a hospitality business, I feel used and I resent it.
