We spent 3 nights at the Old Point Inn in Beaufort, SC. It was great!. The location was perfect. You got a peak of the Beaufort River (ICW) from the porches and from our bathroom window. You can stroll around the corner into the heart of historic Beaufort. Beaufort is a classic southern town. The entire downtown is a designated historic district.
The owners of the Inn were away but the owner's brother and sister-in-law were our hosts. Andre and Margaret were wonderful hosts. They served delicious full breakfasts every day. The selection varied but was always perfect. In the evenings, they hosted a get together where they served wine and soda. They invited a local Beaufort resident to participate in the discussions. The night we attended a local college professor was there. He was an expert in Beaufort history. It made for a very interesting evening.
We stayed in the least expensive room (Wedding Gift). It is on the 3rd floor. It was a great bargain at $115/night. It was small but had everything you would possibly need (TV, private bathroom with shower, skylight). The only issue is that there is not a lot of storage for clothes.
It was a wonderful experience and we plan on visiting again!
