We spent 3 nights at the Old Point Inn in Beaufort, SC. It was great!. The location was perfect. You got a peak of the Beaufort River (ICW) from the porches and from our bathroom window. You can stroll around the corner into the heart of historic Beaufort. Beaufort is a classic southern town. The entire downtown is a designated historic district.

The owners of the Inn were away but the owner's brother and sister-in-law were our hosts. Andre and Margaret were wonderful hosts. They served delicious full breakfasts every day. The selection varied but was always perfect. In the evenings, they hosted a get together where they served wine and soda. They invited a local Beaufort resident to participate in the discussions. The night we attended a local college professor was there. He was an expert in Beaufort history. It made for a very interesting evening.

We stayed in the least expensive room (Wedding Gift). It is on the 3rd floor. It was a great bargain at $115/night. It was small but had everything you would possibly need (TV, private bathroom with shower, skylight). The only issue is that there is not a lot of storage for clothes.

It was a wonderful experience and we plan on visiting again!

The hosts Paul and Julie were full of southern hospitality, although their accents proved otherwise. When we arrived, we were provided with a map of the area and suggestions for dinner. The room was clean, the upstairs porch with hammock was relaxing, and breakfast was yummy. We would stay there again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Our family was in Beaufort to attend our sons graduation ceremony at Parris Island. We had a wonderful stay at the Old Point Inn for two nights. I am sure we were not the usual Bed and Breakfast customers for the innkeepers. It was four generations of family spread out over a couple of rooms. In addition we were arriving the first night quite late. But the innkeepers pulled out all the stops and made everyone feel very welcome.

I would highly recommend it.

P.S. If your plans include visiting Parris Island, ask the innkeepers for the 'back way'. It was only about 15 mins away. Very convenient.

“Enjoyed the Old Point Inn”

Old Point Inn

While en route to Hilton Head, my husband and I spent a night at the Old Point Inn. It was our first visit to Beaufort, and we wanted to have a memorable night in a charming inn. I chose the Old Point Inn because it looked lovely in the photographs on the internet, was well located for walking around town, and had rooms that weren't too expensive. It was a good choice.

Although we were disappointed to miss meeting the owners (they were off on one of their many trips), we were greeted by the "substitute hosts," a lovely couple from North Carolina. After a glass of wine and a discussion about where to eat in Beaufort, we set out to walk around town a bit and have a bite to eat. Our room, The Seafarer's Room, the one with the "eyebrow window," was charming, but the bathroom was very small and I think there are better choices in the house (I peeked into the Safari and the Old World rooms on my way out the next morning). Although I didn't see the other room on our floor (the third floor if the stairs are an issue, be warned!), the ones I saw on the second floor all seemed to be more spacious with nicer bathrooms.

The house is beautiful and it's located on a street filled with gorgeous homes. We also enjoyed a terrific fresh fruit, omelette and croissant breakfast the next morning and the company of the other couple staying at the Inn.

I hope to stop by here again in the future and meet the owners of this charming property.
