Spent 2 great nights in Room 5 (Tues / Wedn). Great accommodations; superb staff. They set a high standard for other locations to match. My mother (82 y/o) needed a quiet get-away for a few days --- which is why we chose to visit Beaufort and stay at the Inn. Location of the Inn to the sights is perfect -- and the area is so safe and quiet that Mother and I had no concern about late evening walks to restaurants. Mother's favorite time at the Inn was the dessert and coffee in the kitchen around 8pm. Met some very nice guests ; had great chats with Yvonne. Breakfast was delicious and generous. If you stay in Room 5, one note (not a negative): the stairwell begins AT the doorway---which can be tricky for a "seasoned" citizen. Not a real problem so long as I reminded Mother to watch her step. Again, this is not a negative comment, just a point of information to anyone who might have mobility issues. All-in-all a great experience. I will definitely return.

A perfect overnight stay in every respect. It began with a phone call to let the host know we would be arriving later than expected due to a traffic tie-up on the interstate. She was very understanding and helpful. Upon arrival we were graciously met and showed to our room. A number of local restaurants were recommended within walking distance, and each would have been great. The inn offers home made desserts with coffee or tea for evening enjoyment, and they were excellent. The room was flawless. Every amenity imaginable was at hand. Breakfast was superb. In fact it was better than some we have had experienced in 5-star hotels. We would rate this as one of our top 5 stays we've had in 23 years of traveling to different inns, historic hotels, and B and Bs throughout the eastern US. It was our first trip to Beaufort, and we will definitely go back and stay longer.

Loved this charming B&B! The place to stay in Beaufort as it fits this beautiful historic city perfectly and is walking distance to everthing. The staff was gracious and accomodating. The breakfasts were delicious as were the desserts offered each evening. I could not have had a more delightful or relaxing time.

My wife and I have had varied experiences while sticking to the B&B concept, which we like in the smaller cities and towns. On this past trip to the Low Country of South Carolina and upper Georgia, we enjoyed the Rhett House the most, and we absolutely disagree with the previous poster who did not share the same opinion.
From the friendly greeting at check-in to the final, full Southern breakfast, we always felt fortunate that we booked at this inn that retained the charm and attention to detail that we expected.
No matter how busy Yvonne, Barbara, Anita, Becky, or Laurel was, each one consistently answered our questions, provided maps and directions, and met our personal requests. On one night the inn was not at capacity while the other two nights the inn was full because of the Backroads Bicycle group. The service and amenities (eg, choice of three desserts at 7:00 PM, best tasting lemonade) never wavered.
The room was clean and large, the breakfasts were delicious and varying, free internet was available, the location can't be beat, and the service was..you know.
Now when I think of our trip to SE US, I will remember the Rhett House foremost.
