We are so sorry that this guest did not enjoy his/her stay. As owners/innkeepers who live on site with our family, we try to make sure we are always accessible to any guest. Both breakfast and our afternoon sherry hour are always hosted by us or by our concierge or by one of our children, and we give our guests our personal and cell phone numbers at check-in in case there is anything we need. These numbers are also posted each evening when we got to bed in case anyone needs us during the night. We have very high housekeeping standards, but if something was not up to par, we would have wanted to know so we could have had the room re-cleaned. I am not sure how the "facilities were poor;" we are a very small B&B of just four rooms in a 300 year old house, so perhaps this guest was seeking more "bells and whistles" than we offer. I cannot imagine how breakfast could have been awful. Normally, guests love our breakfasts and frequently ask for recipes. If this guest had ever told anyone about a problem or tried to reach us, we would have made sure it was resolved right away.
