I was visiting Easley on business, and I try to stay at Hamptons when I can because I love the beds. The room rates were a bit higher than usual for a Hampton, which was surprising for the area. This is a newer property, so the rooms are in very good condition. Breakfast was typical and the breakfast area particularly nice. There is a freight train line that runs parallel to Rt. 123, just a stone's throw away, and the trains whistle through at odd times. Perhaps rooms on the back side of the hotel are quieter. The AC is noisy. I was happy to have an Outback right across the parking lot when I got in later than expected on Sunday night (PS - no alcohol served in Easley on Sundays!)
Oddly, my room did not get made up, and I mentioned it to the front desk staff. I did not need my sheets changed, but it was strange to walk in at 4pm to see the bed unmade. Also mysterious was the fact that the bathmat had been removed, so the housekeeper had been there but did not finish the room. The front desk staff did not offer to refund the room until I mentioned the Hampton guarantee later. I didn't think it fair to demand the full price of the room for an unmade bed (something like a token of $20 off would have suited me), but they said it was "all or nothing" unless I talked to the manager in the morning. I didn't bother to do so, and just chalked it up to a glitch.
