We stayed here because we were part of a tour and had no other choice. Our first room had not been cleaned and it smelled musty and moldy; when we finally got another room, the door did not lock properly, so we propped a chair in front of it (be wary of some of the motel's semi-permanent residents). I slept with a towel over my pillow; others in our group had cockroaches in their rooms, toilets that did not flush and bathtubs that did not drain. No one received a wake-up call in the morning.

Had I been traveling on my own, I would have slept in my car rather than stay here. BUYER BEWARE!!!

We checked into this hotel after getting stuck in pouring rains on our way home from Orlando. While its proximity to I-95 was great, that was the only positive thing I could say about this hotel. The rooms were circa 1980-very old and very dated. We had adjoining rooms and both smelled musty and were not very clean. The bedding was pilly and looked dirty. We slept atop the covers. The A/C unit (which was barely working when we got there) in our room began smoking in the morning and it took three phone calls to get someone to the room to look at the unit. When maintenance got there they said, "Well, it's not smoking now." I had my two childen ages 5 and 3 in the room and they seemed less than concerned about the situation. Not very comforting. Had that unit gone on fire, everyone would have been in a serious situation. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law were in the room next door. There was so much rust in the pipes when they turned on the shower that it took at least 3 whole minutes before it ran semi-clear. I wish we had gone a little further up the road and stayed at another Ramada or one of the other hotels in the Florence area.

I booked a room at this hotel for 2 nights, however arrived on the 2nd night. I found my reservation had been cancelled, and was quite aware the first night had been forfeited by me. The staff refused to honor the second night, even though the room had been paid for by hotwire for 2 nights. The clerk was able to locate my reservation in the computer, and then said the hotel was full. This makes the room I reserved being paid for twice during this same night. When asked to summon a manager to attempt to resolve this problem, the clerk refused and even engaged in an argument with another hotel guest. After persistance about a room, the clerk said she had one room, smoking with a bed available, however insisted I pay for this room. I felt this was injustice at best, staff very unprofessional and after having driven 16hrs, didn't need this kind of treatment. I sought accomendations at a very nice hotel across the street and wouldn't recommend the Ramada hotel in florence to anyone. Customer service leaves a lot to be disired.

I wish I had read the reviews posted here last year because this place has gone even further downhill - just disgusting. The lobby stunk of smoke, there was one lonely worker in the lobby who seemed depressed, the room was old and broken down and the pool was filthy and cruddy. There was dog poop on the walks and the breakfast was inedible. This place should be demolished. There is a Ramada Inn a few miles away off another Florence exit that looks lovely and well kept...wish I had stayed there!!
