We saw the advertisement for this hotel on a billboard on the I-95 featuring room rates at $45.00 per night. We thought this was a great price for a Ramada. Well, as the saying goes "you get what you pay for" and in this case A LOT LESS! On check in the clerk told us we could not get the $45.00 rate unless we had a coupon, so we had to pay $69.00 -- what a bait and switch! $69.00 was still somewhat reasonable for this chain..... until we went to our room. The pictures shown for this hotel on the website are clearly the very best the hotel has to offer, and do not represent the remaining 99% of this hotel -- I've stayed at Motel 6s that have outshone this hotel! The room was very outdated in décor, and it was not very clean having stains on the carpets and the walls; the bathroom was falling apart and the bed sheets didn't cover the dirty mattress. Also, things seemed to be biting us all night long -- not sure if they were mosquitoes or bed bugs.

This hotel is extremely LOUD. You can hear people's T.V.s in adjoining rooms and slamming doors from the neighbours above and next to you.

In the morning we took advantage of the complimentary hot breakfast. It was utterly disgusting. The waffles were stale and tasted weird, the scrambled eggs were grey, and the bacon was undoubtedly saved from previous days service. There were a few rotting bananas and apples, and stale bagels and crumpets available to completely ruin any appetite that you may have left. And most appalling of all the coffee was weak and foul. What a great start to my travel day!!!

We did manage to get the necessary coupon, when we stepped out for dinner that night; and after a lot of haggling we got the $45.00 rate.

There are a lot of other hotels/motels to choose from in Florence, SC. Please take heed of the ratings of this hotel here on TripAdvisor and consider spending your money for a nights stay elsewhere.

This hotel is very rundown and in bad need of renovations. It may have been nice 20 years ago, now it is just sad and old. We booked it because it was pet friendly but the staff was not. The pictures on Ramada's and hotels.com make it look welcoming and a pleasant place to stay, however it was dark, run down, wallpaper was coming off in the bathroom, the room was not ventilated well so it was smelly and stuffy. The carpets need to be cleaned, or even vaccumed. The "hot" breakfast consisted of over cooked eggs and meat products, cold grits and dried out donuts and bread. The only good part about this hotel is that we could have our dog with us and the bathroom was clean. We cut our stay short, to get out as soon as possible. We will never stay here again. I wish I had read other reviews before booking this hotel.

This room was on the "down-hill" side. It had a horrible smell and was in need of a much needed refurbishing. I didn't feel real safe in the area either.
They took pets ( with a $15 fee ) and that was a plus.

Moving to the Florence region to begin a new job, made reservation for 8 nights. Reserved a king, smoking room with interior access. Reservation made well in advance via internet with room guaranteed via credit card . Upon arrival, no room available per my originall reservation. They put me in a room with two single beds and outside access. Room access door had significant damage as though someone had attempted to kick it in, such that light shown through. Did not feel particularly secure. Room phone inoperable because the handset kept falling out of the connection. Saw roaches creeping through the room on several occasions which made me somewhat apprehensive about dragging them along when I moved into my new home. On two consectutive day my room was not cleaned. When I called the front desk, they assured me that it would be first in line the following day - coincidentally, the day I checked out! The continental breakfast left much to be desired. None of my concerns which I voiced to the front desk were ever corrected.
I would never stay there again...
