I just spent three nights at this resort and was very disappointed. First, the positive: the beach acees was great and the room was updated and comfortable. The negative: a 10% mandatory service fee every day; a $6.00 per day parking fee; a $7.00 per call charge (Direct Dial; AT&T Operator Dialed Business Day Rate +25%) fee on a two minute call to a business in Savannah; $27.00 per day fee to use two beach chairs and an umbrella. Overall, it cost me an incremental $50.00 in fees that I did not feel that were justified.
In addition, the Hilton actively solicits weddings and special events for their outdoor activities center. This meant that on Friday and Saturday night, I got blasted with music from a rap music DJ that loved encouraging the crowd to shout obscenities to the bride and groom. I had my door shut but the music still blasted into my room. I had no opportunity to use the patio deck and watch the sunset.
On Saturday and Sunday afternoon, I was subjected to Gomer and Goober a pickin and a grinning as the entertainment by the pool bar.
I went to the resort to relax and could not escape the unwanted interruptions. I would never go back to this hotel. Once I added up all of the extra fees, I could have procured a first class condo on the beach for the same amount of money. I felt like I was taken advantage of by Hilton.
