I stayed here for over a week, while visiting family locally. I paid 63 a night via the hotel website. You can get a cheaper rate via expedia and the alike, but be aware of the fees which can equal more than than the price per night from the direct website. They also charge a $4 a day resort fee. I guess this is for parking, internet, and the pool, I just was't in the mood to contest it. The hotel grounds were clean. The putting green area is very small, but you can rent bikes right from the lobby. This is your typical 3 story 2 star hotel, with doors that access directly outside.
Check in was smooth and took all of 4 minutes. I was upgraded to a suite because I'm a choice priviledge member. The suite has three rooms, a bedroom, living area, and a dressing area with a microwave, fridge, and sink area. The rooms were large and clean, but could use some updating, decor wise. The mattress was a bit springy, but I was able to get a decent night sleep on it. When I initially checked in the bed was missing a mattress pad and blanket, I wasn't aware, but when housekeeping came the next day, she put one on, and this helped alot. Housekeeping was great and cleaned to room well everyday.
The only cons I have is that, I'm a late sleeper. The landscapers and housekeeping were out early in the morning, like 8am. I was awakend almost every morning by either a leaf blower at my door or housekeeping slamming the door going in and out of the rooms next door. This is by far the noisiest hotel I've every stayed at, but if you plan to head out early, this won't be an issue. You will find that people will hang out and smoke or talk on cell phones outside of their rooms. I was annoyed by this a couple of nights, but its not a big deal. The other issue was that if you plan to go to the beaches they aren't in walking distance. This hotel is at the begining of the island as soon as you come across the bridge; however it is close to walmart, bowling, banks, and a few fast food places, all within walking distance.
Overall this hotel presents a great value for singles and families visiting the island on a budget. They offer a free cold breakfast, free wireless internet, and an Applebees onsite. Its a great bargin for families if you upgrade to a suite, bc the children can sleep on the pull out sofa in the living room. I would stay here again, but not for much more than I paid and I would request a room on the third floor to cut back on some of the noise.
Please remember this is a 2 star not 3 or 4 star hotel and it serves it purpose. Don't be afraid to stay here if you know what to expect.
