Stayed at the Beachwalk the first time I ever went to Hilton Head. I drove down there had no reservations and knew very little about the island. Upon arrival I stopped at a visitors center where I asked for a hotel that was affordable. They directed me to the hotel rght behind them where I got a room for $85 a night. Upon arrival the staff was AMAZINGLY friendly. The room was a standard room but thats all I was looking for. Overlooked the lagoon to which i was HIGHLY dissapointed I couldn't find an alligator in and I looked every day. Breakfast was more then your typical continental breakfast and you are right in the heart of Coligny Plaza. Little bit of a walk to the beach but for the price you can not go wrong. I went back one time after and stayed at the Holiday inn Oceanfront just to be on the ocean but the hotel wasnt nearly as nice as the Beachwalk.

My daughter, her children and I recently stayed at the Beachwalk Hotel at Hilton Head Island, SC. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were greeted with "SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY" at it's best!!!
The management and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a wonderful variety to choose from and our room was clean, neat and well-appointed. The pool area was very nice. They also had a Beach Shuttle that took us to and from the beach. The beach is very walkable but having 2 little ones to tote and all their "stuff " to play with, we opted for Captain Woody's Beach Shuttle. We would definitely go back to the Beachwalk.

The hotel room was nice. There was new carpet, bedding, tub liner, etc. The bed was comfortable. The lighting for the room was excellent, better than most hotels, including higher priced ones. There was free wi-fi in the room and it was easy to access. The room included a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, iron and board, hair dryer. The TV reception wasn't great/clear, but not a biggy to us. The bathroom was small, but I suspect this is an older property that has been renovated. The sink area was separate from the tub/toilet, so that was nice and spacious. Our room overlooked the lagoon area. There is a nice gazebo out there and several tables/chairs spaced throughout the garden areas. There was a continental breakfast but we did not partake, so cannot comment.

The only concern we had was noise from adjacent rooms. We could hear the man's telephone conversations in the room next to us, as though he were in our room. In fact, at first I thought he was standing outside our room. I don't know if it was because there was an adjoining door from our room to his, or what, but it bothered me because I figured if we could hear him so clearly, he could hear us! We could also hear the neighbors on the other side, who had a child.
I did not hear any TV's from either room, just the conversations. I would recommend asking for a room with no neighbors to either side if hotel is not full!

All of the staff we encountered were very nice and friendly. The room was also very clean. We were only there one night and checked in around 5:00p.m., so cannot speak to time share sales, beach shuttle, etc.

Except for the noise issue, the hotel was nice and a good value for Hilton Head. I am not sure I would stay there again though, given the issue with the neighbors. If you don't care about that, is a good place to stay.

The staff is very nice. They have free shuttle to and from the beach. Itis 2 blocks from the beach.

The room that we got was stinky. It had a very loud moldy smell. We could barely sleep. We woke up with headaches..

Do not pay full price for this hotel. The rooms look like a basic days inn.

Book through priceline and get it cheap. Very Cheap.
