My wife and I stayed at Harbour Pointe in September 2007 after my parents gave us their timeshare week and we traded last minute into this Hilton Head property. We knew ahead of time that this wasn't the best Marriott timeshare property in Hilton Head so we had a realistic expectation going in. Check in went fine but the worst part of our room was that it was right above the laundry facility. We're not big complainers but we did check to see if there was another room available which there wasn't. It wasn't that big a problem but we did hear the staff talking as they worked pretty much every morning around 10:00, but we were awake anyway so it wasn't that big of a deal. The other complaint was that the wireless internet didn't work in our room. I called the help number and was told that the routers are in every other room and that sometimes depending on your rooms location it might not be that strong of a signal, so as a result I could never get online from our room and had to go downstairs to the lobby to connect.
The room had been recently redone and all of the decorating was nice and fresh. The pool isn't the biggest or nicest but my wife and my's favorite thing to do was to turn our lounge chairs around and face out over the marsh which was fantastic. The property provides a quick shuttle bus to the beach which was always fast and clean and we also used the tennis courts twice and they were nice and clean as well.
So we don't really have any major complaints about the property but knowing how nice the other Marriott properties are in Hilton Head I would much prefer to stay at one of the others, but if I got another week at Harbour Pointe given to me I wouldn't complain and would take it happily. Hilton Head is nice and my wife and i enjoyed Old Fort Pub as our favorite restaurant there.
