Every year after school lets out, we go to hilton head Island for a week. We love it! It is bustling with activities and just an over all great place to stay. We always rent a condo in Caravel court, which over looks the Harbour. Harbour town, the town we stay in, has a beautiful view and has a great little town. One thing that we love to do is climb up to the top of the lighthouse. It's a beautiful view of the ocean, the 18th green of the Harbour town golf links golf course (a BEAUTIFUL course) and Harbour town. That's always a favorite.

Next thing to know about: dinning. We've been coming to seapines for 8 years, and have developed a routine for our dinning. The first and last night we eat at the crazy crab. Located right in the middle of Harbour town. It is mainly a seafood restaurant, but has childrens menues. It's uniquely decorated and the serivce is good. Our second night and sixth we eat at the salty dog cafe, in south beach. We love the salty dog! It has a round bar right outside, and since the wait is usually long (but very well worth it!) we love to sit there and get something to drink. The bartenders are very quick and efficient. The food is great, and one memorable thing is the roles! They make excellent roles! Its a great dinning experience for for family. There are many shops that you can walk around in while your waiting too. And there's always live entertainment! Also located in south beach, on our third night we eat at the rec of the salty dog. Which is right next to the salty dog. We eat outside on the deck which has a great view. The wreck is more seafood based, but still has a wide selection and great kid friendly meals. They also serve great roles! *NOTE: though this isn't part of our routine and we haven't eaten there for quite some time, we also want to recommend Land's end tavern. Owned by the same owner as the salty dog and the wreck. It looks like a great place, with the same view and similar menu.* Our fourth night we eat at the courterdeck cafe, located right by the lighthouse. It has a great view of the harbour and great food. Then our fifth night is our choice night. We can pick any restaurant we want. Last year we ate at Marley's. I can't quite recall the location, but I'm sure that it is in a guide book. I remember it being a wonderful restaurant with fun decorations and a great menu. This year, we ate at the beach club. In the day it is just a take out counter seat yourself kind of place, but at nice it turns into a fancy table service restaurant. There is live entertainment there as well, Johny Breeze was the musician we listened to! It over looks the beach and you can eat GREAT food as you watch the sun set over the ocean. Usually for lunch, we eat at the beach club, since we're at the south beach almost every day. It's good just to hold you over and sit down for lunch, but I wouldn't recommend it as a place to go just for lunch. Or we eat at the sundeck cafe, if we decide to stay in Harbour town. It's a table service out door cafe with a menu similar to the beach club. Well, that's some good restaurant choices! Of course there are many others around the island, but those are our favorites!

As I said before, every day we go to the beach. It's great fun! The waves are just right for boogy board surfing and riding them in a tube. On days when the waves are big, it's fun to swim far out and then let the waves carry you in and knock you out of your tube. You don't have to worry about sharks, stingrays, or jellyfish. It can get very hot in hilton head, so a dip in the ocean is always refreshing. But the sun is also very strong, so put on lots of sunscreen and try UV protected swim shirts. I know from experience what the sun can do. And it hurts! But don't let the powerful rays stop you from a visit to the beach! It's easy to get to, from Harbour town we can ride bikes there. We rent from pelican cruisers, which is right on the way there so if we have any problems we can make a stop.

There is also a pool in Harbour town. It's a great place to swim after you've just hiked all over hilton head and gone on tour, rode bikes, and tuckered yourself out on a hot day. But it isn't something so great you should devote your whole day to swimming there. But I do recommend going there at least once to cool off.

We also went Kayaking! That was easy to set up. You just go to the dock and there's a little booth where you can set up parasailing, sailing, Kayaking and more. Our guide was nice and imformative. Dolphins passed right by our Kayaks! It was so much fun. We got to see a bunch of wild life.

There is so much more to do at sea pines, I only listed a few things! You can horse back ride at Lawton stables, shop in Harbour town, listen to Gregg Russel at night by the liberty oak tree (he's great for kids and can get a laugh out of all the adults too!) and much much more! I highly recommend sea pines. Have fun!

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at Sea Pines HHI, we stayed in a 2 bedroomed villa in Hertiage Villas in Harbour Town with another couple. We were very surprised at the quality of the accomadation which was to a good standard and had everything we needed. The villa was well decorated and had a great deck overlooking the lagoon.

There is so much to do at Sea Pines, we hired bikes and got around everywhere on them, travelling to the beach, shops etc, its the best way to see the resort. The bars and restaurants were well priced and good value seeing as though they have a captive market.

The weather was great and we made advantage of the pool and facilities at Harbour Town, only a 5 minute walk away from the villa. There is so much to do for all ages, and with day trips to Savannah, only 30 mins drive away, and Charleston this is the perfect location for whatever type of vacation you want, from total relaxation to action packed.

We stayed in one of the tennis villas. We picked the cheapest one so weren't expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised! The villa was very nice. It was so much better than a hotel. It was actually like having our own apartment. The trees around the property give the feeling of being in the woods, while the beach is just a short bike ride away. If we had to give one negative, it would be that all the restaurants on the property offer steak and seafood and that's about it--no variety. There are places to shop and everything is within biking distance. We loved it and can't wait to go back.

My husband and I just got back from a vacation to Hilton Head and we stayed in the Raquet Club Villas ... what an incredible time we had! Hilton Head is beautiful, much different than the beaches that we are used to in San Diego. Everything is greener with beautiful trees everywhere.

If you go to Sea Pines be sure to order bikes. They are inexpensive and well worth it. My husband and I biked to the Harbor Town Marina and had ice cream, walked around the shops and listened to live music at night. We also rode our bikes to the tennis courts to play tennis one afternoon. Biking around the resort is a lot of fun.

We also recommend kayaking. We went kayaking with the dolphins. It was a hoot! We had two dolphins come about 3 feet away from our kayak. It was definitely worth the experience

We HIGHLY recommend The Salty Dog restaurant down at South Beach. Everything we ate was fantastic, especially the shrimp philly sandwich. For those of you who are taking a kidless vacation, the Frosty Frog has great daiquiris and they let you take them with you, just ask for a lid (just make sure that you are on foot). If you are looking for somewhere to go for romance and fine dining, we recommend The Old Fort Pub (it is not cheap, but it is well worth it). It is one of the few restaurants where you can eat on the water, but make sure that you call ahead for a reservation because it is hard to get in. We went right at sunset and ate our meal while watching a beautiful sunset. The food and service were great too!

If you are trying to decide upon a Hilton Head vacation or where to stay, we highly recommend the island and The Sea Pines Resort. My husband and I have done a lot of traveling and Hilton Head is among our top 5 favorite places to visit. Sea Pines will not let you down.

We hope this review helps you and safe travels!

We stayed at the Beachside Tennis condos in Sea Pines for Spring Break 2008 in March. Decent weather - only 2 bathing suit days though, otherwise too cold. But lots of activities available for the kids - biking, tennis lessons, horseback riding, alligator tour boat, dolphin boat watching. Definitely make dinner reservations or you're outta luck. Very crowded for the popular restaurants at 6 pm.
