Would not recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly, but the hotel is in desperate need of updating. Yes, the room rates were inexpensive, but after looking at the rooms, we decided to pay a little extra and stay at a better hotel. We cancelled our reservation and ended up staying at LaQuinta at Broadway at the Beach, which I would highly recommend, by the way.

Stayed at the Super 8/Barefoot Landing Apr 27-29,2006. While the employees were generally friendly and helpful and the location was fine if you don't need to be beachfront, the hotel itself is in need of a major renovation. We stayed on the first floor where there was no paint on the corridor walls (except bits of primer and spackle), no baseboards (which revealed dirt and mold), and no room number signs except the old ones laying on the floor near the door. I'm assuming they are preparing to paint/renovate, but we did not see any workers there during our stay. The bedspreads are old, the sinks didn't drain well, etc. We did not use the pool at all. Unless you see "recently remodeld" in their advertising, I'd stay away from this particular Super 8.
We stayed 2 nights and had problems with the room itself as well as with rudeness of some of the staff. Also, the floors and walls were paper thin, hotel too close to the road (noisy), next to the neon bright lights of a beachwear store (if staying on the north side of the hotel) that the curtains didn''t exactly keep out. When we tried to talk to the manager the next day about a specific plumbing issue that had occurred the night before, he was rude, unprofessional and unresponsive. When we mentioned that we would see to it that we talk to Corporate about the attitude and service we received, his response was "I OWN this hotel." Nice touch to a hotel visit that went from bad to worse. After trying to talk to the manager, we were asked to check out (luckily we were checking out that day anyways). I wouldn't let my worse enemies stay here and will NEVER stay here or recommend anyone I know to stay here. I've stayed at many hotels including many Super 8's and this by far was the worst experience ever. Don't try and save money by staying here-you definitely get what you pay for!

We went down for the weekend for a concert at the House of Blues and it was great. The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly, and it was easy on the budget. The staff went out of their way to be friendly. One of us forgot his concert ticket and the staff was kind enough to let us go behind the front desk and print out a new one. They were also gracious enough to have a taxi waiting for us to take us to the concert. I will definetly stay again!!
