I swear by Trip Advisor but I have to say that the reviews on here for restaurants in TN (see my other reviews) have really let me down. Let me start by saying that we went for lunch and the place had a good business. That is always a good sign, but after eating there, I just wonder what these people were actually eating! All I can figure is since the restaurant is near the TN aquarium, a gaggle of tourist reviews might be bolstering the reviews.
One member of my party ordered the spinach and walnut ravioli, another just got a grilled cheese with fresh fruit, and I got a chimichurri steak wrap with onion rings. The chimichurri steak wrap had an adequate amount of steak on it and was plumped with tons of avocado, tomatoes and other veggies. Unfortunately, the wrap was just bland. It has essentially no flavor, so I thought that the avocado may be drowning out the flavor. I disassembled the wrap so I could just get at the steak, but that did not improve the experience. Neither did ketchup. I NEVER add salt to a meal because I am a super taster...and I still couldn't taste ANYTHING.
I was so disappointed that I decided to try the other plates of my companions - they were equally tasteless, a fact echoed by the people who had order those dishes. The bread that was brought to the table was bordering on stale. The fresh fruit was warm and tasteless.
Now, we also had the onion rings which, with the exception of being a bit greasy, were solidly good.
So, this would be a rating of 1 of 5, but the onion rings and the fact that the waiter repeatedly filled our glasses prompted the 2 of 5. As you will see from my other reviews for Trip Advisor recommended restaurants in TN, be cautious of what you read because either the reviews are bolstered by tourists or the locals haven't had better. Having grown up in TN, I expect that it is a bit of both.
