The Pomme d'Or, is in a superb location in St Helier, opposite Liberation Square, and very close to the Bus Station (Jersey buses are excellent and cheap), Hotel service is exceptional, rooms are very clean, however, they are a tad smaller than other hotels of this rating that I have stayed at. Food is good, at the higher price end.

The Hotel did not disappoint from when we arrived to our departure. This hotel is situated in a good position opposite Liberty Square; this is a lively area with Pubs, Bars and Restaurants, and a five minute walk from the town St Hellier.

We had a hire car and although the hotel does not have a car park, we purchased some parking tickets from the Reception, who advised us of the nearest car park which was only a few minutes from the hotel. We found the staff friendly and helpful especially when we tried booking a Restaurant for the evening.

Our room was clean and comfortable and well appointed, we did not have a sea view and was to the side of the hotel with no outlook, which did not bother us or spoil our stay. The buffet breakfast was excellent, just be careful of the very hot plates.

I normally stay each month on business at the Hotel de France, and tried this hotel out of interest. In general the service was slightly better, and the breakfast was the same really, both very, very good.
If you need to be 5 mins walking distance to St. Hellier, then the Pomme de O'r is best. However if you want the leisure factlities ON-SITE and slightly bigger rooms, and more reliable ( mine wouldn't work ) in room free wireless then go for The Hotel de france...
My only negative comment for real improvement with the Pomme D-Or was that they have sandwiches only after 11pm...so walk around the corner for food!

Both are fair value, and good for the business traveller

This was our third trip to Jersey and first to the Pomme D'Or. We shall return. This hotel is simply superb. From the street presence to the entrance, to the reception staff, the public areas and the rooms, everything is spot on. We ate in both the Harbour Restaurant and in La Petite Pomme, both were exceptional. The quality of the food and of the cooking was first class and the breakfast choice was mind blowing. All the satff, from the chambermaids, through reception, to bar staff and restaurant people were so friendly and made our stay extra pleasant. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
