“Just Wonderful!”

Brookside Guest House

We stayed at this fantastic gem of a place for 2 nights either side of a friends wedding in the area on the 4th and 6th of July. As I was 8 months pregnant we wanted to make the trip more of a break and their modern website caught our eye and did not dissapoint.
The welcome was great, a fresh pot of tea was just what was needed!
We stayed in the ground floor room which has it's own en suite and seating area and was a wonderful room that would not have been out of place in a modern hotel.
It seemed that every detail had been well thought out to make this far above what you would expect from a B & B, DVDs to borrow a fridge on the first floor to get drinks/snacks and wonderful breakfasts.
John and Tess the owners were wonderful hosts and we felt well looked after.
We cannot recomend this place enough!!

We stayed at the Brookside Guesthouse and it exceeded our expectations. The owners John and Tess were very friendly. The service they provided along with the breakfast was superb. The accommodation was exceptional, modern, very clean and comfortable. We would not hesitate in recommending or returning to this B&B.
Thank you for a wonderful stay Gill & Les, Tonbridge, Kent

“Chappels of Congleton”

Brookside Guest House

28 Jul 2007

We visited the Brookside Guest House on Monday 23rd July until Friday 27th July.
Because of the dreadful weather we had delayed our visit by one day, but were met with nothing but understanding from our hosts Tess and John.
On arrival we were brought coffee / tea and fresh muffins which was appreciated.
The room decor was excellent with furnishings of the very highest quality, extremely clean and was kept that way for the whole of our visit.

The bed was very comfortable with crisp linen sheets.

Our hosts were always willing to help and advise on the locality, even to the extent of loaning us their binoculars because we had forgotten ours !

During one of our conversations we mentioned we had been warm during the night - the next day a fan appeared in our room without our asking. A very nice touch and much appreciated. Also very much appreciated was the complimentary bottles of wine which appeared in our room while we were out for the day !

The food is of a high quality and always beautifully presented with lots of choice, i.e., fruit juices / fresh fruit / cereals and a fantastic choice of main breakfast.

There is a lovely garden at the rear with plenty of seating areas and water features - very relaxing after sightseeing all day.

We would heartily recommend the Brookside to anyone.

“Fantastic!”

Really lovely place! Rooms are stylish and every detail has been thought of to save space and offer the feeling of being in a hotel. As soon as we got there we were brought tea and cake and extras were provided in the room, tea, coffee, shoe shine, lotions etc. Really lovely.
Very high standard of design and cleanliness, none of that horrible dated lace and ghastly colours! Breakfast was excellent and relaxed. You dont feel like your in someones 'home' here but you are very welcomed. Did not get to sit outside in garden as bad weather but looked really nice. When we left we were wished a safe journey and given a little gift, nice touch!
Being someone who has stayed in most places from b&b's to world known hotels, this is a place I would visit again. I wish we had not booked nights in other hotels and just stayed there!

“A gem of a guest house in Brixham”

Brookside Guest House

5 Jul 2007

Have just returned from a 4 night break in Brixham, Devon where we stayed in the Brookside Guest House. Having stayed in a lot of guest houses throughout England I can say this is by far the best. We had the ground floor room which had a separate seating area and was finished to a very high standard and was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was superb having plenty to choose from. John and Tess were great hosts and should be proud of their guest house and the tourism board rating it holds. I will definately visit Brookside again and recommend to my family and friends.

On leaving Brixham we stayed in Chester for two nights. The guest house we stayed in supposedly held the 5 crown rating from both the AA and the tourism board however, was not a patch on Brookside guest house. Brookside excelled this establishment by a long, long way.
