“Wonderful Stay”

Brookside Guest House

Following a previous enjoyable stay at Brookside we just had to return. Again we received a very warm welcome from the owners John and Tess. The choice and quality of the breakfasts is first class. The decor is very modern, clean and light . The bedrooms extremely comfortable and beautifully kitted out with all those little thoughtful extras ..... just like home. Nothing is too much trouble. Parking is never a problem and the guest house is situated very conveniently with a pleasant walk into the lovely fishing town of Brixham. We have yet to find a B&B better than this ......... we give it 5 stars!!

Found this excellent guest house on the internet. The website is comprehensive and easy to navigate and portrays an accurate description and vision of the property. Having decided on a one night stay on our way down for a week long holiday in Salcombe, Devon, the booking process was simple and all communications clear and concise.
On arrival John and Tess made us most welcome and after being shown to our room, which was spotless, very tidy and extremely well appointed, we were offered tea and biscuits in the garden ... very welcome after our journey.
Brookside certainly has a small hotel feel about it but with the added advantage of personal attention ... nothing was too much trouble.
After a few hours exploring Brixham, taking in a light meal and returning to Brookside it was a pleasure to use the room facilities including watching the flat screen TV and selecting a DVD from the large selection provided.
Following a good nights sleep, the power shower was used to great effect enabling us to take full advantage of the magnificent breakfast provided ... an excellent array of cereals, juices, freshly prepared fruit, and just about any combination of cooked breakfast ingredients imaginable. John and Tess even had kippers on the menu which delighted my wife as did their preparation of her special gluten free bread.
Altogether excellent accommodation and service and a venue which we would be very happy to recommend to anyone.

If only all guest houses were run this way! The Brookside Guest House is more of a small hotel in its approach to service, with spotless rooms and a friendly, relaxing manner.
Even our late (1a.m.) arrival was no problem and we were still greeted with a warm smile. Breakfast was also excellent, and we would recommend this mini hotel to anyone.

This B&B is everything it should be & more, from the moment you walk through the door you can sense a real welcoming, the owners John & Tess are very friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The B&B is absolutely spotless, this was our 2nd visit & our room was lovely, light & airy, spacious with a modern contemporary feel to it. The decor was modern & plush with a good attention to detail. The little extras in the real were a nice touch & the fresh fruit was very welcoming. Breakfast offers a wide choice from fruit, cereals, teas, coffee, juices & cooked food both modern & traditional. Location is great the B&B has a lovely garden, plenty of off road, safe parking & only a short flat walk into the town. To be honest we would not stay anywhere else in Brixham when we next visit, a real gem & well worthy of it's gold award!!
