It was a real treat.
We found excellent service - discrete and attentive.
The hotel was extremely comfortable throughout.
We especially enjoyed being in the bar in front of a roaring fire at the end of a long bike ride and golf.
Above all, we loved the attention to detail.

Having just returned with the family , we couldn't have wished for a more child friendly enviroment having spent 2 nights in one of the wonderful lodges. If you have children then Hannah who looks after the activites is a "Star". The Restaurants were excellent especially the brasserie which has a lot to offer. Fed the Managing Director was on hand at all times to assist with our every need.

Our latest visit to Bovey Castle was just as wonderful as the first.

The staff are so friendly and efficient, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean and serviced twice daily, with beautifully fresh bedlinen, towels and robes.

Wonderful breakfast served by smiling staff. The whole experience is one of enjoyment and relaxation. Can,t wait until our next visit.

We decided to stay at Bovey to celebrate my wife's birthday and our daughters joined us there to celebrate with us as well.
The place is out of this world and the villa we stayed in was supberb. We could have just stayed in, in-front of its open fire but instead enjoyed what Bovey Castle had to offer.
There was something for each of us and that included a marvellous golf course where I had a really enjoyable round, despite loss of a number of golf balls. It also had tennis and croquet.
The restaurants were excellent and we tried the Bistro (relaxed mood), the Edwardian (splendid dining ) and the Mulberry (small, intimate and truelly great )
Watch out for the falconery display each morning after breakfast, it is something special.
The spa was a favourite with my wife and daughters and the pool was just lovely to relax in.
The slow gin house was unique as was the hen house where you can collect your own eggs for breakfast if you are so inclined , two of our family were and I enjoyed the eggs.
The bar and the library etc in the Castle were truely luxurious and we indulged ourselves in front of the open fire after dinner, in the drawing room, to have a relaxing nightcap before retiring for the night.
I missed out on the fly fishing as it was booked out on the day, I will have to go back again to fill in that gap in my experience! Make sure to book up for a lesson before you travel!
I know I have not listed all the facilities but we only stayed three days and could not experience all of them.
We also enjoyed a ramble to North Bovey to the local pub, it was just perfect, a chocklate box village if ever there was one.
The most impressive thing about Bovey was its management and staff. They all shone out and really looked after us. We wish to thank them for making our stay so enjoyable.
