We had been struggling to find a holiday abroad and in despair, having spent most of one Saturday trawling the Travel Agents, we purchased a national newspaper to see what was available and an offer sprang out at us for a 5 night stay at this hotel.
It's been a while since we visited this area and were a little 'anxious' as we travelled down wondering if we had been a little hasty with our booking. However, upon arrival we were not disappointed, although, for some reason we had anticipated the hotel actually being in more of a country house type setting rather than in the heart of the village.
Our welcome was very friendly and throughout our stay everyone in the hotel was so genuinely helpful and seemed to really enjoy working there.
Food was plentiful if a little lack lustre, but that was not a problem as there was a huge choice so one could vary each night. The waiting staff were lovely, even 'Basil Fawlty' - the funny young waiter who at first seemed to be rather abrupt and terse, but after a couple of meal-times, we got to see the funny side of him and his approach added to the qaintness of mealtimes - "Are you ready". "Are you finished"?
Our room was warm and clean and the bed very comfy. The lovely fluffy towels and very nice bathroom were most welcome after days exploring the wonderful countryside and coast hereabouts. The view from the front window watching the comings and goings in the village was actually quite nice though at first we thought it might be noisy.
Would I return - most definitely. Thank you to the Management and staff - it was a lovely break.
