My mother and I stayed at Galgorm for one night to celebrate passing all my university exams and as a treat. The grounds are simply stunning and the decor of the building is beautiful, our twin superior room (number 310) was great, really modern and stylish finish.
We both had an Eve Lom radiance facial at 4pm, which was the most relaxing experience I've ever had - my beauty therapist was extremely friendly yet professional. After the forty minute treatment we relaxed in another room with loungers, headphones that were connected to a spa radio and were offered a lemon sorbet and water. We then went to the thermal spa and made use of the hydrotherapy pool, the outdoor heated pool and the aromatherapy steam room. Unfortunately the outdoor hot tub is very small - maximum of five guests really, so we were unable to experience this, as we couldn't hang about too long - we had dinner booked for 8pm and needed to shower & get dressed before then.
Dinner at Gillie's was a delicious four course meal - I enjoyed the Mushroom gratin starter, Bang Bang Chicken main with garlic fries, warm chocolate fudge cake for dessert with a hazelnut latte. Our waitress couldn't do enough for us. One word of warning though: The portions are massive! So don't be afraid to leave some of your starter to save room!
Breakfast buffet in the morning was superb, excellent variety for all tastes and appetites, staff brilliant once again. I would love to return to Galgorm in the future.
The only gripe I have is that the room was extremely hot during the night, very difficult to sleep - I opened the window and door onto the small balcony area fully and slept without any covers. Thankfully this extra air made all the difference.
