First the only thing wrong about Cluny Bank is the size of the shower which is best accessed with grease and a shoehorn, but everything else is top notch.
Hosts at this listed Victorian mansion are Lloyd and Julie Kenny from Preston who could not be more friendly and helpful- nothing is too much trouble for them although Lloyd was crippled with a bad back during my visit which lead him to present dessert, at the end of a very excellent dinner, doubled up on his knees.
There is a snug and comfortable bar where you can chat to other guests, mainly golfers given the number of wonderful courses within an hour's drive, and spacious bedrooms ( apart from the shower) with very comfortable beds.
It is not aimed at the younger end of the market and it is not cheap but for older couples or those on a golfing pilgrimage it provides a terrific base to explore the north of Scotland. I would certainly recommend it.
