We called in here in the early evening and were a bit apprehensive as there seemed to be workmen doing things around the place, as a result entry was by one door only and there were a few wires to be stepped over; but as there aren't many places to eat in Stromness we decided to give it a go anyway and there was no problem inside the bar. We were unlucky to be sharing the bar with a particularly loud party of tourists from Lancashire, one of whom was particularly loud and obnoxious, but this is no reflection on the place and the staff were clearly a bit fed up with him too. The inside looks in need of a bit of a makeover, but maybe that was why the workmen were there. There was nothing wrong with the food though, or the service. The menu is not fancy, most of the items are pub grub staples, but it was well cooked and tasty. The price reflected the menu on offer and was very reasonable. All told I would eat there again.
