“another great stay”

Crieff Hydro Hotel and Resort

Stayed, yet again, at Hydro from 27th December for 3 nights. In room 89 which is the executive studios which are still BB & dinner but you are allowed to keep the dog in them! Great rooms and the dog was welcomed with bed, towels and blankets!!

If anyone is thinking of taking your dog the walking is great - if not a little steep and harsh on the legs (yours not the dog!!). There were deer on "The Knock" so keep a keen eye whilst walking - 3 dogs were lost in one day due to chasing them.

Hotel, was as usual, fantastic apart from "The Brasserie" which, I thought, was not up to its usual standard. We altered our dinner bookings to eat every night at The Murraypark.

Daughter, who is 12 yrs old, still loves the kids club - seemed to do loads more with them this year ie took them quad biking & the low ropes.

Husband and daughter did the off-roading and quad biking and really enjoyed it (hubby does off-roading every year - what else does he need to know!!!).

If anyone wants to know anything feel free to email me.

Got married at The Hydro in November 2007 and have to commend the staff for an excellent job. They were always helpful, cheery and did everything they could to make sure our stay was great. Our guests also had a fantastic time and seemed to enjoy their respective stays as well.

The hotel itself is set in a lovely part of Scotland, offers all sorts of activity options and the rooms that we stayed in were all excellent. Breakfast was also very good and the food served in both their restaurants and for our wedding meal was excellent. Feel a bit mean to mention a couple of minor gripes such as slow service at the Meikle restaurant (three and a half hours for an evening meal) and the fact that the honeymoon suite's shower does leave a bit to be desired but, hey, everyone's a critic.........

All in all though we found it to be a great wedding venue and I've no doubt that we'll make further (less stressful!) trips to Crieff to stay at the Hydro again.

“old fashioned hydro, a step back in time”

I have stayed at the Crieff hydro on many occasions as it is used for a conference venue by my professional organisation. I love it. It is a typical old hydro (a spa for the rich victorians to retire to for thier health). It has lost none of its charm and is now a modern and well run hotel. The Golf facilities are ok, but next door is the Crieff golf course which is even better.

snooker room , dance floor with live music I have rumba'd and foxtrotted my way across the floor more than once!

always welcoming and a great hotel. Rooms large, but can be a little dark (ask for extra lights - staff accommodate).

I just wish I had time to enjoy the hotel, I am always in a rush for business reasons. I am going back again early december this year.

Just returned from a three night stay at the Hydro, early November.

The hotel is fantastic - check-in very quick and pleasant and the room was huge for two of us.

The hotel is full of nice little extras - snooker room, cinema, nooks and crannies along the corridors where you can sit and read a book and while away a pleasant hour or two.

We had evening dinner included in the Meikle Restaurant and the food was superb - beautifully presented and great service. Breakfast was buffet, but not at all bad and no long wait for tables despite the hotel being very busy.

The grounds are just fantastic - full of autumn coloured leaves, nice quiet walks and stunning views over the hills.

This hotel provides entertainment - sadly for us, they cancelled their quiz night, but the ceilidh on the Friday was fabulous and you would have thought you were at a party with old friends as the atmosphere was so good. There are also two swimming pools - one for adults only which costs extra, and they have a good variety of "well-being" treatments available. I opted for an aromatherapy massage and it was fantastic.

After checking out and arriving home I discovered I had left behind some important belongings and I was very impressed at the effort put in by several staff members to track my bag down and call me to assure me they had found it - I now have it back.

This hotel is a beautiful old building, lovingly restored but still full of character and every member of staff we came across was extremely friendly and helplful.

Despite some of the reviews, please give this hotel a try - I am really quite fussy and I cannot wait to return to this little piece of Scottish Heaven.

Booked for 2 nights in this hotel. Good reputation. Unfortunately it was full of kids (October break). Good leisure facilities although to get to the kid free area (Victorian spa) you had to pay a staggering £7.50 per person per day ONTOP of what we were already paying. Breakfast was average. Tables for 2 at dinner were too close together and you could hear both conversations going on on each side. I would not rush back. However -good for families I'm sure, lots to do. We went off roading in 4x4 which was smart. Rooms spaceous, clean and of a good standard. Overall 3/5. Very overpriced for what you get.
