My husband, 14 yr old and I stayed here for a week. We prefer to pay for good accomodation rather than look for bargains so that we can be assured of a luxury holiday and not be whinging about the hotel etc. You want a holiday not a rough it week! The price is actually reasonable for what you get. This place is just perfect. The rooms are modern and spotless. The ensuites are stocked with luxury toiletries and lots of pure white fluffy towels. The beds are cosy fresh and spotless. Sea views all around. Alison and John are very relaxed but professional and can't do enough for you.
Plenty of room for cars, bikes etc. and they dry your wetsuits in the garage.
Rooms tidied and replenished every day. Dining room and guest lounge gorgeous. Rooms quiet evn though families with small children stay. A good mix of people. Food perfect. Would not stay anywhere else and I am the fussiest woman ever!

The owners are very professional and they and the staff are friendly and informative about places to eat and visit. Our room was spotless and beautifully furnished and decorated. The food was superb with a choice of Scottish, Continental and Recommended breakfasts. Our room, with breakfast, cost £80 per night. We met several business people who return regularly to Braighe House and, if we return to Lewis, we would want to stay there again.

“Fabulous accommodation and Island hospitality”

We had a fabulous few days on the Island for a special family event. Had the expected 4 seasons weather in one day which added to the pleasure. Fabulous and truely luxurious accommodation equally by the couple's Highland and Island welcome and hospitality.
In all could not reccommend this establishment highly enough.

    • Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — GPS doesn't quite drop you at the door but owners great and will direct you. Lovely scenery even if you go too far along the coast road.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST ACCOMMODATION ON STORNOWAY YOU HAVE FOUND IT.We stayed two nights on the recommendation of a friend. The bedrooms are very nice , the guest lounge is superb as is the breakfast. Alison and John the owners are the nicest people you could meet. The price is a bit top end but we thought it perfect if you like high quality accomodation.
