Whilst staying in Tobermory we wanted to see otters in the wild and a local recommended Tall Tales of Mull and Findlay. The cost was good value, think it was under £40 for adults, for 8 hour tour of island and included a picnic lunch. Finlay is great, such a character and knows so much about Mull and the wildlife. He used be in the police within the wildlife secton and helped set up the eagle watch on the island.
The tour is by mini bus, which was spacious and also meant we were higher up than the average car.
We left Tobermory and headed to search for Sea Eagles. Finlay knew exactly where to find them. There are binoculars available for people on the tour to use, as well as a scope which Finlay sets up to help people get a really good view. After seeing the sea eagles we went in search for otters. Finlay knew a few great places and we saw 2 male otters at 2 seperate spots. It was definately the highlight of my trip to Mull.
Throughout the tour Finlay entertained and informed us with stories of locals and the island. This was much more than just a wildlife tour, it was definately an experience I'll never forget.
I really can't recommend this trip enough. And I will be booking up next time we're in Mull, which hopefully won't be far away, as its a stunning island with great people.
