Having watched Ice climbing a few times, I've been wanting to have a crack for ages. I'm not a rock climber (due to an elbow injury), but don't mind heights, and I found that this made no difference as the techniques are quite different. The instructor was outstanding, and we progressed through the two hour session at a good pace, always moving onto slightly more challenging climbs, once we'd got our heads round the basics. At the end I was able to tackle a challenging pitch of 15m/50ft, and made it to the top, though I couldn't lift my arms afterwards. Now I can't wait to get back and try and work out a good technique rather than the brute strength approach that left my arms feeling like lead. 10 out of 10.
