Quiet pub with local diners and drinkers near Duns in the Scottish borders. Restaurant area was found to be small but cosy, and was not busy at all. Everyone i was with had steak from the very limited menu. Steak was very well cooked and was in general a good meal yet very overpriced for the quality. I recieved a finger nail in my pudding (home made sticky toffee pudding) which made me feel physically sick, the manager / owner (Trevor) was very unsypathetic. At first he admitted the mistake while the fingernail was sitting on my plate, then later claimed and argued the rouge fingernail was from a "date" used in the pudding recipe, despite hearing him discussing the issue with the kitchen staff. After refusing to pay for the meal i found to be very unsatisfactory, i was asked to leave the restaurant and I was shouted at by the manager/owner that i was a crook and was not to return. Dissaponting experience. Will never return and would not advise anyone else to despite the meal being pretty good.
