We first stayed in 1978 , with the Vere Nicoll's (rooms 23 pounds, dinner 4.50 !!).Then had a poor lunch from Mr Galmich in 1990 , menu all in French. But now the Ibbotsons are enlarging (2 new bedrooms going in) and the rooms bathrooms and lounges are far more comfortable.
Relaxed in style , after the winding 3 mile track down to the private sea bay , you sign in and your bags are taken to your room.
We only stay when the sun is blazing down , dont know how often that happens , and the trees look a bit wind bent . Two old black dogs and the family are pottering around the garden , which always looks rather lop sided , huge naked lawn one side , masses of stuff the other.
Not the best bar for cocktails , keep it simple.
The Michelin star kitchen is a well oiled machine , but I have forgotten my dinner , breakfast on the other hand was funny when the order was muddled and they thought I was vegetarian ,
which I am not.
Super relaxing , and worth the journey.
Bed and bath excellent.
Left without seeing the owners again.
