My traveling companion and I really wanted to stay in a castle and we found this one to be near to where we were going, as well as affordable...less expensive than some of the B&B's we stayed in! It has a wonderful, elegant atmosphere. Dinner for 2 people costs as much as it did to stay there for one night, but it was worth it not to have to go look for something else in the area, and the 3-4 course meal was good. From what the hotel staff told us, there are not many places to eat in the area, at least for dinner, so if you do not want to eat at the hotel, I would suggest eating before you arrive, or bringing food with you. Breakfast was complimentary, and was a full Scottish breakfast - no complaints here! When we left the next day, we took advantage of the offer of packed lunches for a great price - but make sure you order the night before. The hotel grounds are beautiful, and there are 2 large sitting rooms to sit and relax within the hotel. This is a great place to go if you want to feel like you are truely on vacation! Our room was large and very clean, and our bathroom was the biggest we saw in the UK!
