We spent 3 nights at the hotel to celebrate a special birthday and had a wonderful time. The staff was helpful but discreet . Our room was comfortable , with a great view over the loch. We were lucky enough to have beautiful, sunny weather but the odd snow shower added to the magical feeling of the place.Great log fires, excellent breakfasts and evening meals. We would definitely recommend the hotel and hope to go back there again!

My partner and I stayed at Glengarry Castle for 1 night in early November. The long drive way lined with trees leading up to the carpark set the mood for our stay - it was like driving up to your own country retreat.

Reception was friendly and we were personally shown to our rooms rather than just given the key. We booked a superior room with 4 poster bed. It was well appointed and clean with heaps of space and a very comfy bed.

Also a standout for me was the lovely set up of the common lounge and library where we had wood fires to keep the place warm and board games to play. You can get coffee and other drinks serve there.

The grounds belonging to the hotel are fantastic. The building is set beside a lake which sits directly in front of mountains. It was so peaceful and scenic. There were small boats there which would be lovely for rowing in the summer. As it was Autumn, we just walked around enjoying the view.

Breakfast was made to order and was adequate. The only small let down was dinner which was OK but did not match the standard of the rest of the hotel. Bear in mind also that this is not really a castle, it is an old mansion house. Only small quibbles really as this is one of the best places we've stayed in. Would love to return when we next visit Scotland.

My fiance and I actually got engaged during our stay at the castle! The grounds are absolutely BEAUTIFUL- like a scene straight out of "The Secret Gardens." Not only were the grounds beautiful but the staff was SO incredibly nice and helpful and our Superior Room was very tastefully decorated as well as comfortable. The castle is also very well priced compared to other castles in the area. I would recommend Glengarry to anyone! We will be returning for one of our anniversaries!

“Fun and Affordable Castle Stay”

My traveling companion and I really wanted to stay in a castle and we found this one to be near to where we were going, as well as affordable...less expensive than some of the B&B's we stayed in! It has a wonderful, elegant atmosphere. Dinner for 2 people costs as much as it did to stay there for one night, but it was worth it not to have to go look for something else in the area, and the 3-4 course meal was good. From what the hotel staff told us, there are not many places to eat in the area, at least for dinner, so if you do not want to eat at the hotel, I would suggest eating before you arrive, or bringing food with you. Breakfast was complimentary, and was a full Scottish breakfast - no complaints here! When we left the next day, we took advantage of the offer of packed lunches for a great price - but make sure you order the night before. The hotel grounds are beautiful, and there are 2 large sitting rooms to sit and relax within the hotel. This is a great place to go if you want to feel like you are truely on vacation! Our room was large and very clean, and our bathroom was the biggest we saw in the UK!

“Ideal Break - 'Glengarry Castle Hotel'”

Glengarry Castle Hotel

5 Nov 2007

Although we only had a brief one night stay I can say that this was a fantastic place. Our room, complete with four-poster bed, had wonderful views, the food was excellent and the service first class. Not the cheapest but worth it. Hope to return again some day.
