I was surprised at my own reaction to river oaks. I'm used to good chefery and enjoy good service around town- but I am overwhelmed at the understated menu that holds treasure after treasure. It's a beautiful thing to watch the service given consistantly by Lindsay , Timothy, and Jim- each with their own shining talent for making us feel welcome and very well cared for. Chef Jose and Colleen Gutierrez are world class , professional, and very down to earth.Amazing hosts.
Try everything . Salad nicoise, BEEF SHORT RIBS , Camembert beignets, paella,sushi( tuesday) and some kind of slow cooked duck to DIE for:)
I don't love the decor but it's fine . Ask for one of these servers and try my recommendations- you'll see.
