My sisters and I stayed here to attend the 5K for St. Jude. We wanted a hotel close to the start and finish line. We killed 2 or 3 roaches in our rooms! The staff was awesome, but we will never stay here again. Our rooms were next to an alley and we could hear trucks beeping as they were backing up all night, not to mention the car alarms going off, and the fact that our blinds wouldn't close all the way. In one of the rooms, there were beer tabs next to the nightstand, what looked to be food on the sink, and hair in the bathtub.

Hotel location is absolutely brilliant. You are right across from the Peabody Hotel and only 5 minute walk to Beale Street and to Missisippi River.

OK - Hotel is old and in need of repair and modernisation which the staff did tell us is happening.

Our room was big, clean and adequate for our needs. There were no views but did have leaks in bathroom but didn't bother us during the overall stay.

Had a beautiful welcoming to Memphis with staff member SAUNDRA who is absolutely beautiful. She had trouble with our accents when checking in and ended up having a great laugh together.

Our highlights of Memphis were FANTASTIC ribs at restaurant in laneway beside the hotel, Graceland, Music Bars on Beale Street each night and 1.5 hour drive to Tupelo.

Easy booking online...Staff was very friendly and we felt completly safe our entire stay..For 15.00 per we had valet parking and more importantly felt that our car was safe. Everything was within a short walk, the beautiful horse drawn carriages were lined up out front at night, the staff was very helpful to call us a safe cab when we wanted to go across town.

Lobby and room satifactory..clean enough you could tell it had been cleaned..not detailed ( the grout in bathroom floor obviously told it was old hotel)...but cleaned. Nice fixtures in bath room, looked to be new mattresses...only complaint on bed was that there was not fitted sheets and the typical sheet, ruff blanket, and bedspread you would expect to find at best western...keep in mind..we did not pay for the peabody.

Knowing what to expect...GREAT place to stay. Our goal was not hotel romp...it was city romp with a place to crash safely and clean...Perfect at the Benchmark..

Filthy hotel. Uncaring staff. Stench in the room. Noisy fan for heating/cooling system that defied attempts to shut it down. Towels not replaced. Trash not emptied.

Everything seems to be fallling apart. What is really amazing is the place seems fully booked on weekends. There are many staff members moving around, but none seem to be doing anything constructive. This place is a total dump and really needs to be shut down.
