location :- hotel is a good few miles from harlech, and approach to it is via a 0.6 mile hairy single track road with few passing places, their long gravel driveway is well potholled and 2 mp h would be the safest way to navigate the bumps.
rooms :- we stayed in the morfa room, no views other than of a roof, four poster bed was well worn, with lots of roll together due to shot springs, the tv was straight out of the 70"s with an added digi box converter !!!! shocking in this day and age !! tv was located on the floor which you struggled to see in bed ,and also had loose connections. bathrooms were acceptable, rooms had caracter but were tatty, i,e carpets well worn curtains .old,
breakfast :- we had the continental option which was grim at best !!! older members of staff gave the impression that we were a pain in the a** when we asked for coissants and toast (how dare we !!) all this should have been displayed, but wasnt, on display was a manky block of cheese, and some horrendous tasting salamis, overall it was a 2 out of 10 at best ,very very poor.
we had a voucher deal for our 2 night stay so had it for £99 , had i payed full price £200 i would have been frothing at the mouth and speaking with the manager, and highlighting the hotels shortcommings,of which there are many, so to close,a fair hotel that looks attractive but the interior needs money spent on it, ! hence the voucher sign up, i guess times are hard and they are struggling to fill rooms, but i think the way they are going about it is false economy,as we would not return .
