We just returned from a visit to this hotel and we wanted to put into words our praise for the staff of the hotel.

We decided to come to this part of Wales on a whim, not booking in advance and we came across the hotel by chance. We were immediately drawn to the building next door, it has such wonderful architectural features. We decided to book into the hotel and were very pleased with the service we received. The receptionist, told us a bit about the hotel, ie that it is over 200 years old, gave us directions to town and pointed out various places of interest to visit in Pembrokeshire and providing leaflets.

The room we were allocated was at the back of the hotel with its own balcony and a large four-poster bed. Very comfortable, clean and in the back of the hotel away from the main road.

The food in the restaurant was so much better than what we expected it would be, excellent. The young lady who served us was so polite and the services was top class.

We could see that there is obvious work and renovations going on in the hotel, ie skip in car park. The bar itself is fairly new and modern, yet still retaining some of the original features.

We hope that we get the chance to visit this part of Wales again.

The Hotel is past its best, the general decor is from the 70's. My double room was at the top of the hotel and very poor quality, the furniture was long past its sell by date. The noise from a nearby rook' s nesting site was very loud. The curtain was on a sort of swinging arm. There was a big dent in the floor just where you stepped out of the shower, this was caused by water eating into the chipboard floor and covered over by a dirty white towel/floor mat. The room was not very clean, there were still used shampoo packets in the shower area. The bed was lumpy and had a very old nylon covering with just a sheet under it. I woke up during the night because I had been scratched by a spring that had come through the mattress... The TV reception was very poor, the picture and sound were bad and this was probably because the set was a Polish version...

All in all, this was the worst hotel I've ever slept in, and that is saying something because I used to be a rep who was on the road 40 weeks a year, travelling all over England, Wales and Scotland....
