Lovely old house/castle,with great pictures & artifacts ,delicious food provided by Michelin star chefs, great Welsh singers to entertain us too.Unfortunately access for people with dissabilities is practically non existant which was a problem for my sister as the dining room was upstairs, but the ladies toilets were downstairs & only an outside ramp accessed via a bedroom which led into a very dark path in the garden.
It was to raise funds for the Eisteddfod in August.

I am very sorry you experienced difficulty at the Eisteddfod charity event. As a Grade 1 listed building we are severly restricted in what we can do in respect of adapting the castle for access purposes. The external ramp is the only approved access to the 1st floor not involving stairs.

The organisers were informed that it is preferable for people with disability to be seated in the library where they are close to a toilet on the first floor, and no steps need to be negotiated. Fonmon did not have any input into the seating arrangments.
I personally brought out and made ready the castle's wheel chair, but I understand that use of this was declined. In the expectation that it would be used, and knowing that the route would pass adjacent to the first floor toilet, I am afraid I assumed that you would be made aware of this facility. Clearly you were not, and I offer my apology for this unexpected omissiom of information.
Glad you enjoyed the food; I had some of the leftovers - delicious.
