Should have known from the start this was a dodgey place, when we were checking in we were pressured in to completeing a questionaire about the hotel for small business awards by very pushy staff who would not take no for an answer. Stayed here for four nights with no sheet changes, beds were remade ( straightened) every day. Breakfast was bacon and eggs cooked on a grill that had not had the fish cleaned off from the night before, result, fishy bacon. T.V in my room was missing channels that were available in room next door. Radio was un tuneable.
Bed was comfortable.
Staff were friendly

Disappointing experience after staying at a similarly priced 4* hotel on the lower north shore some days ago. This hotel is VERY dated. Upon opening the front door of my room, a stale smell almost knocked me out (imagine old wet carpet with the possible waft of old cat spray). The entire hotel complex is in desperate need of an entire overhaul. It should be noted however, that the staff are very friendly and helpful. Free internet access was the main reason I chose this property, as I required it for work (although the broadband access is not what I would call highspeed). Every 6 hours I had to renew my username and password with reception. The toileteries in the bathroom are the dispenser type. The on site restaurant is very basic with simple/boring food - extremely over priced. There is a guest laundry that is open from 7am-10pm that I did not use, but would be useful if I had stayed longer. The are 6 Foxtel channels included in the tariff. In all, I would not stay at this property again, not recommend it to others. My clothes still smelt of the hotel room when I returned home.

I stayed at the Comfort inn Lane cove booking late via Wotif for what was a reasonable rate of $89. On arrival the staff were friendly and on departure too. The hotel is more of a motel syle place where you park your car outside the door. My first impressions were that it was looking rather old and dated and in need of an overhaul. For me it had quite a depressing feel about it. I would say there are better hotels in the area for similar money and I would not stay again at this one.
However I did get a good sleep and the bed was comfortable. And the free wireless internet was good.

I read a few slightly negative reviews of the hotel, so I wasn't expecting a great deal when I arrived...

My sister and I stayed at the hotel due to a close family member being in the nearby hospital for a serious illness.

I cannot speak highly enough of the friendliness of the staff - particularly reception and the restaurant.

The hotel itself has some age on it and subsequently the room facilities are not modern or top of the range, but the room is clean and neat. The beds are comfortable the linen is crisp and new.

The bathroom was small, but there was an array of shampoo, conditioner and gels to keep any weary traveller happy.

There was cable TV and the standard tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel was a mere 2 km from the hospital which was very handy for us and only a couple of km's to the delightful Lane Cove shopping village precinct - again for the weary, stressed traveller was fantastic - no giant malls to navigate.

We used the restaurant one evening after coming home late from the hospital. We only had 10 mins before it closed, but the lovely chap had no problem with us coming in as ordering a meal.

The meal was delicious - Italian cuisine and very reasonably priced.

Overall - it was a pleasant stay under the circumstances. Certainly the 'homey' feel of the place assisted us in de-stressing and I would recommend without hesitation to anyone in a similar situation. The price was very reasonable (given this area of Sydney) and as stated before the staff were wonderful.

  • Liked — The lovely staff

Very difficult to get to and return to the Pacific Highway. As seems common in Australia the restaurant was closed for two days without warning in the brochure or when we booked , and no apology. We had to walk a mile to one in town. Room tired, carrying a faint smell of spraying cats. But when the restaurant opened on the third day the waiter-cum-maitre-d'hote was so colourful you had to cheer up, and food pretty good.

  • Liked — Welcome in restaurant
