Stayed here for two nights in April 2009 on Good Friday and Easter Saturday.
Just an ordinary motel room, although claimed on the website to be 'self-contained', this is barely the case, with just a portable hot plate and a bench the only form of that. The room, supposed to be a 'family room' , was like the size of a standard motel room, with it comfortably fitting two, but we had to accomodate four by using foldout beds (we could barely fit them in the small room).
The room was very dark, with few windows, and hard to air out. As a result, it was quite stuffy and the air was stagnant almost all the time we were there.
Nevertheless, the location and setting was great - with gardens at the front of the property and its convienient location in Omeo's main street. We were able to walk to everything within Omeo, which itself is a beautiful location, much less commercialised than Bright.
The owners also operate a restaurant across the road from the hotel. We dined there on our second night - food was very good, well cooked, but quite expensive, with $30 mains. In the city such prices are normal but with the Omeo locals we got the impression that it was too expensive. Nevertheless we had a great meal and the restaurant has lots of atmosphere.
Overall, we liked our trip and stop back through Omeo for two nights, however if we had the choice again, we would probably stay somewhere else because for $140 a night it isn't great value and there is better available.
