“Great place - need a car, though”

Embassy Suites Hotel Nashville - Airport

22 Apr 2008

Stayed here two nights while attending a conference in the hotel. The suite was very nice, clean, and everything worked well. The staff was very nice and helpful. I had a lunch buffet one day in the restaurant - it was very good - only $10. This hotel is pretty much by itself - not in walking distance to any stores or restaurants. I didn't have a car, but didn't need one, since my conference was in the hotel and most meals were taken care of through the conference.

The breakfast was the typically excellent Embassy Suites full meal deal! This is a very nice hotel - if you need to meet or work in one of the nearby office buildings - this is the place to be. Bring a car or be prepared to take a cab to the music scene downtown at least one night - I like Roberts Western World - boot sales at day and great, old country music at night - good food, too.

I recommend this hotel to anybody.

We recently returned from a wonderful trip to Nashville! I was looking for a 5 day getaway that :
a. was within driving distance from Chicago (8 hrs)
b. was warmer (by about 30 degrees!)
c. could provide entertainment for our 12 and 22 yr old college student (yes, 11 yrs difference in age)
d. was not going to break the bank - we wanted to do this for under $1000 total (food-drink-sightseeing-gas-lodging)
First of all, the Embassy Suites -Nashville is a good location- high on a hill-private dead end street. 3 min to airport-15 min to downtown. The sunlit atrium lobby is just lovely with a winding brook and waterfalls . The indoor pool was more of a lap pool ( a little disappointing). The whirlpool was nice and looked out-the workout room was better than expected w/new equipment and individual TV's for the stairmaster/treadmills. We booked our room online and paid 139/nite which included made to order bufffet breakfast (very good) and complementary cocktail hr every evening from 5:30-7:30. It was great to come back to the hotel after a busy day, to unwind and have a glass of wine or rum/coke with the 3 adults while our 12 yr old went to the game room or pool. Our room was very nice, roomy, clean, and on the top floor. All suites have 2 separate rooms/flat screen TV's which was perfect for our adult son (he had the pullout), so our daughter slept in the room w/us and had the other double bed. Our room overlooked the airport field and could be noisy if you opened your window. (I personally like the buzz of the planes) The hotel was very cozy-staff was excellent. Our daughter turned 12 during our trip and the sales staff (Amy & Tammy) sent up a bouquet of balloons and a bag of candy which made her feel very special!
Some of the things we did (and would highly recommend) was take a tour first day - Tommy's Tours phone: [-----------]. He is a hometown boy and really knows Nashville~he is a one man band band *books his own tours (he was answering the phone while he was moderating our tour) . He also gives you inside info on the stars and history of the area. Another bonus is his sidekick, Jerry phone: [-----------] , who will pick up from your hotel /drop you off downtown/pick you back up at your designated spot/drop you back at your hotel for $10 R/T per person. He is Tommy's roommate and boyhood buddy ~ he will also give you insight as to nightclub spots/dining/places to go! Must see/visit: JacksBBQ, Tootsies Bar, Wildhorse Saloon. Our 12 yr old was able to get into Tootsies and Wildhorse until 10 pm. Opreyland is a must see, Reiman Theatre, went horseback riding (JuRo stables [-----------). Nashville reminds me of a smaller version of New Orleans.... we had a wonderful trip and will be back!

Welcome to kid central. This place may be all business during the week but on the weekend it is all kids and families. Expect small children running all about till about 10 pm when the staff starts to hunt them down and back at it by 9 am. Other that the kid this is a fine if dated hotel.

It is an old school Embassy suite vintage 1990 with the big atrium in the middle that all the rooms open on. The restaurant and lounge area are in the center. So is the pool so you can smell it all over.

Rooms are clean and have been up dated with flat screens. But the desk is small. The colors and wallpaper look like they are from the 90 as well. The free breakfast was fine but look out for the crowds. Those kids can eat! Over all the place has a tried dated feel but that may just be abuse from the weekend hordes of kids.

If your traveling with a mini van load then this is your place. If you’re solo go else where.

I have stayed at this Embassy Suites at least 100 nights for business travel. The recent renovations have done wonders, with new furniture, decorations, etc. However, I have had many issues with cleanliness and poor service. Nearly every time I stay here I find hair in the bed sheets, bathroom, etc. I have also had some bad experiences with rude/unhelpful front desk workers.

The rooms are quiet and spacious with comfortable beds. You can tell they saved some cash on the renovation by skipping to re-tile the bathrooms and keeping the same crappy TV's. The free breakfast is big on choice and mediocre on quality. Everybody loves the "happy hour" with free drinks/snacks from 5-7 (great for us business travelers!). There are often conventions at this hotel that clog the parking lot.

To be honest, I only stay here because it is preferred by my company! Unless you MUST have a place by the airport, I wouldn't put this at the top of my list for Nashville hotels.

We generally stay on Music Valley Drive when we come to Nashville, but everything was full so we tried this hotel. My family was VERY pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very convenient to everything, had a great atmosphere, and the breakfast was great! Also, my son LOVED riding in the elevators (yes, we're from hick-town USA & he's 4 so that was the highlight of his trip!).

The only issue we had was that our room was not cleaned until around 4 pm on our 2nd day there. Also, the rooms are a bit smaller than other suites & the decor is a bit older, but we will be back.
