Overall the hotel is nice and has good location. The biggest problem is that you do not have an option to self-park. They know most people are going to have to park so why add another $19 a day to their bill. I am sure most people do not even realize this situation until they are already having to pay it.

“Perfect location”

Marriott Nashville at Vanderbilt University

Stayed during May graduation. Perfect location for visiting the university and only a 7 minute drive to downtown. Rooms were much nicer than an average Marriott

“Couldn't be more convenient”

My family stayed at this hotel while attending the graduation festivities at Vanderbilt, and it couldn't have been more convenient. We were able to walk out the door and be at all of the various events within minutes. (And, for football games, the stadium literally is out the hotel's back door and across the alley.)
Our room was very comfortable, clean, and attractive. We had access to the concierge level, which gave us (there were nine family members, staying in four rooms) a place to congregate. The drinks and hors d'oeuvres available in the evening on the concierge level were very nice.
The hotel is pricey, especially during big events--like graduation--at Vanderbilt, but the comfort, level of service, and convenience made the cost tolerable.

“OK to visit your kids in college”

Not that great of a hotel overall, but it will do for a visit to your kids in college there or if you are planning to go there and want to see the campus. It's conveniently located on the campus, near a lot of restaurants. Not a lot of amenities offereed at the hotel itself for a Marriott, so I thought it was pricey for what we got. Nothing special at all about the rooms. I would not want to stay there for a long trip, but a couple of nights would be ok. Only good thing was that it was next door to PF Changs, one of my fav places to eat.

“Very comfortable and great location”

Marriott Nashville at Vanderbilt University

8 May 2008

My husband, daughter and I stayed here when visiting Vanderbilt U because it is right on the campus. In fact, our room looked out over the beautiful football stadium. We were indeed able to walk on to the campus. As far as the hotel, we found the front desk to be extremely helpful, with excellent recommendations about sightseeing. I wish I could remember the name of the front desk person who told us to visit the Centential Park across the street. He gave us many other good recommendations. The rooms are typical, two double beds with very good mattresses & linens, decent bathroom with great toiletries although we usually like to have a separate sink area outside the toilet/bath) for privacy. We didn't have time for hte indoor pool but it looked very nice. The bar is comfortable but a big expensive. Parking was a bit expensive but I don't think the lot belonged to the hotel. Self-parking was $16/day so we opted for the valet at $20. Only complaint was they were always busy so it was slow. However, the complimentary van service was so great that we only used our car when we left. The van will take you into the city or anywhere you need to be at no cost but I do suggest a nice tip. The hotel is adjacent to a nice strip of stores & restaurants where we ate breakfast so I can't comment on the hotel food. All in all, we were very pleased with the hotel and plan to stay there again, as our daughter decided to attend Vanderbilt!
