This area of the Smokies is NOT known for high quality lodgings! We usually stay at Ritz Cartons or Four Seasons Hotels when available - believe me, there is nothing even close in the whole Eastern side of the State of Tennesee! Even so, we finally selected the Music Road Inn for our 4 day stay in Pigeon Forge, after an exhausting internet search and reading hundreds of reviews of many, many hotels/inns. We were quite pleased with our stay. Even though there was no onsite restaurant, no room service, no "special" amenities, the room was very clean and comfortable.

In addition, the Inn offered an acceptable breakfast in the morning, broadband internet service, and air conditioning that worked well! The internet connection was located on the wall next to the air conditioning unit (we stayed in the honeymoon suite), nowhere near a table, chair, or bed. Thus, due to cord length, we had to sit on the floor next to the air conditioning unit to use the computer! At least it was available...

I'd say the Music Road Inn was a very good value and close to as good as it gets in this part of the country.

After reading the previous review about how coldly they were treated I decided to add my review as well. Just like the previous family we too were treated VERY coldly, must of been the same girl. She checked us in, never told us how to get to our room either other then around back. The biggest disappointment was the pool not being open. I checked on the opening date when I called and was told it would be open, but when we arrived we found it was not. Once again it was the same young lady and she did not apologize or show any empathy for the fact I had driven all the way from Atlanta specifically, because my kids like their pool and then it wasn't open. I had the exact same reaction to my stay, the hotel is very nice, but it sure wouldn't hurt to give the front desk some lessons in customer service.

“So Clean”

I love this hotel because it is so clean. We stumbled upon it a couple of years ago and now ALWAYS stay here. Most hotels in the area are not very clean nor updated...This by far is the nicest place I have stayed in PF. The pool area is excellent for children and the rooms are large and well kept. I have always found the front desk staff friendly and helpful. I have not tried the breakfast...we always go to the Applewood Farmhouse.

“Beautiful...BUT....”

OUR FIRST TIME VISITING THE INN - Upon check-in a preoccupied clerk on a personal call told me our room wasn't ready yet, apparently so she could finish her conversation - not the friendliest lady I've ever came in contact with. Said to come back in about 45 minutes. We went to leave and looked around inside the lobby and was heading back towards the door to get an early dinner, time was 3:00 and our room wasn't ready?...The lady with the excellent people skills hollered across the lobby to us, our room was ready. We got to check-in close to 3:30 and was told to unload around back....we go around back and unload and found our room. No directions or layout of the Inn was given upon check-in. Room was nice, the Inn was all around beautiful! During the week, we kept wondering around and found out how to get to the pool, and the game room. And one evening we came back to our room around 8:30 at night and our door had been left ajar. We figured housekeeping had been there approx 11:00 and the door was left open all day! We called the office and they said, "Well, is anything missing?" You had to have a door card to get to the outside pool which is fenced in, but they could have cared less that our room door had been left open all afternoon! No apologies were offered or anything! As long as nothing was missing, they didn't care. When we were leaving at the end of the week, SHE was there again, no smile and no thank for staying with us...I didn't make a complaint or say anything. We just thought if she didn't care how she came across to the public, she wouldn't have cared about a door being left open. At the rate of well over $100 a night and other than the Inn being beautiful - I would not stay there again. Once they had our money, nothing else mattered.

“It's Grrrrreat!!!!”

Music Road Inn

This is the ultimate place to stay. The staff is very nice a friendly, the breakfast is wonderful. I have stayed in hotels where they have a free continnetal breakfast of coffee, juice and doughnuts. The breakfast at the music road inn has any pastry you could ever want. It even has gravy and bis. The rooms were so clean. And the bathroom was huge. The best part is the swimming pools. This is the best place to stay if you have children. Mine had a great time!
