The following was intended to be a letter to Cheddars sent via their online contact-us website however it will not post from an ipad so I decided to put it on tripadvisor.
We made a decision to have a late lunch at Cheddars. We drove about twenty miles to reach the nearest location. We drove past over 200 other dining establishments to reach Cheddars. These included everything from PF Changs, Longhorn, Outback, Ruth Chris, to local burger joints, Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean, Greek, buffets, to sub shops Resturants that opened last week to places that have been in existance longer than you have been alive. We also drove past more than a few that had locked their doors for good. They all have one thing in common. ---They want me to stop and spend $'s.---
We ordered nachos as a starter. We told the server we would order the main courses when the nachos arrived. There was only two of us we were going to order a total of five meals, three to take to friends.
After waiting 25 minutes for room temp, greasy nachos to arrive we decided that some other establishment would be getting our main course busness. With a name like Cheddars you should really should use real cheese not cheese food and give more than a teaspoon of sour cream and not call chopped tomatos pico. At about a dollar a chip this is not much of a value; it was certanly not worth the wait. We went a couple of miles down the road to a place we had not been to before. Spent about $75 there total and had a great meal. Guess who will earn our $'s in the future?
In a year or so we will have forgotten the details of this trip but, as I dine out about 4 times a week we will be stopping at one of the many establishments I drove past to reach Cheddars.
