I was there for a Convention with my Religious organization, and everything since day one was crazy. Starting with receptionists being rude and not wanting to give us the Special event price of $79.00. Instead they wanted to charge $119.00. The Hotel sponsor to be a 4 star and i think is maybe 2 star, the food was nasty, the bathrooms were ehhhh, the halls were dirty, room service didn't clean the room one of the days and i had to called the receptionist to send someone to get me towels. Gladly we spoke to our board and we're having our next years convention at a better hotel. Why does Westin doesn't bother to fix this issues being """one of the best hotels""" in the U.S.

“Great Stay at Westin Park Central Dallas”

We got a great deal on the Westin Park Central Dallas through Priceline for $65 a night. Self-parking the attached garage is $12 per night.

The room was very clean. It looked like it had recently been redone. It had a widescreen HD LCD, but all of the channels were in SD. We have a Sleep Number bed at home so we usually hate the beds when we travel. We were presently surprised to get a good nights sleep from their Heavenly Bed. The bed was firmer than what we are used to but seemed to have a high number of coils.

I had a problem with the Heavenly Shower. The Heavenly Shower has 2 massaging shower heads instead of the normal 1. The problem is my wife liked it so much, I am going to have to put one in at home. I have a feeling this in going to be a costly problem.

We were a little hungry after checking in, so went down to the restaurant to have some appetizers and drinks. The menu in the restaurant is very limited. They had 5 or 6 appetizer, none of which were traditional. They were all over $10 each. We ended up order from their deserts a small brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for $9 each. We would have done better walking to the Jack in the Box around the corner.

Service throughout the hotel was top notch. The bellhop, James, was very friendly and very helpful. The front desk staff was very cheerful. Smiling employees greeted us as we passed in the hallways. The restaurant staff were friendly. It is obvious that the staff has been instructed on how to provide great service.

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. If you're looking for business it may be ok but not for seeing the town. Hotel was clean, rooms were fine. Restaurant was way overpriced, $14.00 dollars for a cheeseburger!

Hotel runs a "shuttle" to a few thing but only in a 5 mile radius so be prepared to catch a train or taxi.

“Consisently reliable stays in Dallas”

The Westin Park Central

I have to preface my review by noting that I only stay here on business and not for a vacation. The location makes it convenient but hardly an area to go out and explore. The Westin is rated as a 4 star class hotel. Many reviews have questioned that. You have to know what the stars mean as it relates to hotel classification. It does not signify levels of superiority of service. It merely is the travel industry's way of saying that this hotel has lots of amenities like meeting rooms, conference areas, full service restaurant, etc. I have been a number of 2 star hotels that have better service than 4 star hotels, it just depends.

That being said it does offer a better stay than lots of similar priced hotels in Dallas. I have stayed at a bunch in the North Dallas area and the Westin is my favorite. Better beds and room designs than Courtyards, Marriotts, Hiltons, and the like in this area. I particularly like the bed, dual shower head, overall room design and cleanliness since most floors have been updated or are going through this process.

I know they have had problems with the elevators and that can be frustrating but they supposedly overhauled them all. It took several visits for me to notice a difference but now I do, they are much better.

I have never eaten here so cannot rate the food or service and do recall prices being steep. No different than many city hotels. I do like the exercise room which has a good number of machines and is much more spacious than other chains.

I also like the valet parking since I have no idea where the self park is. Yes it is expensive but worth it if coming and going on business. I also like the rooms they have. I have had one that offered a treadmill in the room and another with a stationary bike in the room. Prices overall are pretty reasonable compared to the $140 a night at a Courtyard in Dallas, if you get a good corporate rate. Even at regular price it compares favorably for me to a lot of the full service 4 star hotels around town.

“Great beds and Margaritas”

Stayed for two nights.. Hotel felt almost deserted when arriving on a Saturday afternoon.

Very good rate for a first class hotel (105 $ per night). Free parking in parking garage adjacent to hotel. Wireless internet access @ 9.95 $ per day that was never charged to my bill :-)

Unremarkable breakfast buffee 20 $. Nice pub/bar serving decent food and great Margaritas.

Fantastic beds. Good heating/AC. Nice and clean room with flatscreen TV.

Few guests for such a large hotel. Quiet (!) location only 200 yards from Dallas High Five Interchange (I635/Dallas North Central Expressway).

Benihana Japanese style restaurant within walking distance otherwise nothing but office buildings in the immediate neighborhood.

Embassy Suites Park Central is nearby across I-635. Somewhat run-down and more expensive but offers free breakfast and daily manager's reception. Always busier but also a noisier location.
