This hotel is family owned and felt like the Cheers of the hotel world. Lots of hotels offer waffles now for breakfast but when was the last time you saw the owner in the kitchen making the batter from scratch? Their great pride in their hotel from the waffles to the clean rooms shows.

I travel with my job and typically prefer to stay in a hotel without entrances that open directly to the outside. That having been said, the Quality Inn in Ennis is nicer than the typical smallish-town hotel. The owners/staff are of Czech descent and bring a high level of customer service to the hotel. This is the second time I've stayed at the Quality Inn and I was overall very satisfied both times.

Each day, a complimentary continental breakfast is available in the hotel bar. This typically includes pastries, hard-boiled eggs, fresh Texas-shaped waffles, yogurt, cereal, and other typical fare. While I didn't take advantage of this every day, it was nice to know it was available to me. Similarly, the bar is open each evening. I was provided a complimentary drink coupon, which I used the second night of my stay. The lady tending the bar was very helpful in providing me information about the area.

The lighting in the rooms could be better, but it was adequate. The air conditioner worked VERY well considering the heat and humidity of July in Texas. The hotel placed a bag of microwave popcorn and a few pieces of candy in my room the first day. I enjoyed the convenience of a microwave and mini-fridge in the room.

The room itself was sufficiently clean and the linens were comfortable. I did not encounter any major problems with the room.

The hotel is in very close vicinity to a Denny's, Starbucks, Chili's, and other places to eat. I would recommend checking out one of the Czech bakeries in town during your stay. I sampled the goods at the Colachie Depot (think that is the correct name) and greatly enjoyed the pastry, coffee, and overall excellent customer service.

Because the hotel options in Ennis are limited, I would highly recommend the Quality Inn to anyone who needs to stay in the area.

Very clean and staff nice. Recommended by local Visitors Info. office and reasonbly priced. Off of main road I-45 a little bit which cuts down on highway noise in room.

while on our way to galveston texas we stayed at the quality inn in ennis texas and it was wonderful the staff was great and the they had a great breakfast the outdoor pool and hot tub was very relaxing after a long day of traveling everything was very clean and well kept we would stay there again any time
