This is the worst experience that I've ever had with a hotel. I contacted the property directly and was given a certain rate for a particular type of room. I booked it. Because I was going to stay there awhile, I decided to check the hotel out a few days before I actually moved in. At that time, I asked again about the rate for the room. I was given the same information as the first time. So, I thought all was well. A few days later, I checked in. At the time of check-in, the front desk clerk told me that he could not give me the original rate--they raised it by $200 more! Furthermore, if I wanted to get the best rate for that room, I needed to sign a contract. They called this an apartment agreement and said by doing this I wouldn't have to pay taxes even for the first month.
In addition, they said under this agreement there would be no housekeeping services.
The clerk gave me the manager's number. I called her and left a message, but she didn't return my call that day. As, I had to begin work the next day, and had to move my stuff in, I went ahead and checked in. The clerk had told me the manager can always refund me the money.
They put me in a room that was scheduled to undergo maintenance. I soon discovered crickets, beetles, and finally a lizard entering my room! I then had to repack all my many belongings and move to a different room. During my second week at the hotel, lightning struck the hotel. The smoke alarm was going off for a couple of days, the TV, heat/AC, phone were out.
The manager never got back to me, despite repeated attempts to contact her and even though I had written a letter to management. She finally responded only went to the front desk to complain about the unbearable noise from the smoke detector after the storm. I had told her I couldn't reach it and had asked that the maintenance guy to remove it and he had never stopped by. At that time, she finally addressed the issue of the rate. She then told me she would give me a $150 refund.
I decided to check out of the hotel after staying 30 days and finding a new place. A few days before checking out, the hotel charged me for taxes. However, by signing the apartment agreement, I was not supposed to be charged taxes! I complained and they removed the charge. The hotel later charged me for taxes again after I checked out. I complained again and had that charge removed. Furthermore, the $150 refund was not posted to me even at the time of check-out. I repeatedly contacted the manager, only to have her give me the run-around and claimed she had posted that refund. Finally, I wrote an email to her boss and the refund was finally posted.
Whether you are looking to live at an extended stay hotel for a few days or awhile, I would strongly urge against staying at this one.
