This was a HORRIBLE hotel, and I stay out of town a lot. It smelled awful, the staff was rude, the carpet was filthy, and there was a used condom and beer bottle outside my door. I felt extremely unsafe, and wanted a shower because it made me feel so dirty. Roaches in the bathtub nixed that idea. Several outlets didn't work, the bed was sunken in the middle, the door had a standard chain lock instead of the newer secure ones, and someone else's spoiled food was left behind in the refrigerator. This might be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

Never in my life have I experienced anything like this place! If the smell of urine and cockroaches are your thing then definately stay at this hotel!!!! The room stunk of urine and there was a giant cockroach on the wall when we walked in. We opened the hide-a-bed and it was full of sunflower seed shells. The room was not made up for four days and we never recieved our wake up calls. When I went to question my total cost after staying at this hotel for fourteen days I was told that no one could run a statement for me. When I argued the fees and expressed my complaints about the whole experience I was pretty much told that none of this was the hotels fault. After a lengthy and heated discussion about how this hotel did nothing to improve my stay I was verbally thrashed by the man behind the desk that has no problem using the [--] word on paying customers!! We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the Will Rogers events center. Fortunately there is an overpass that is closer than this hotel. I would rather sleep under the overpass for fourteen days next year than go anywhere near this place!!!

“Its a Dump, Old, Poorly Maintained, but cheap and clean enough”

Days Inn University Dr.

Stayed there because convenient to TCU, and just wanted a place to sleep - that's all its good for. Light Bulbs missing in the room, No Yellow Pages in room. Continental Breakfast sucks, they don't even keep the coffee pot full. And of course no in room coffee. One of the worst Days Inns I have stayed in, but its cheap and nothing bit me while I was sleeping.

“Classic Dive”

Everything about my stay at this property was TIRED.

The front desk was tired as I was upon check in.

The rooms were dismal, complete with cigarette burns on the sink basin, the clock was not working and the room smelled stale and moldy. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything next door.

No internet access, which makes doing business a drag.

Safely is a concern at this property as there are junk cars parked here and there (flat tires and obviously not running ).

This is the classic definition of "dump". For $46, it's questionable if it's worth the value or not, but the location is convenient.

Not recommended for solo women travellers.

We won't be fooled again.

“Pretty much a dive...”

Days Inn University Dr.

I wanted a fair-priced hotel near the TCU campus. Days Inn fit the bill at $46/night, but it really was a total dive. It is located within 1+ miles east of the campus, past a park and river, and in a pretty nicely-developed area (Panera Bread, etc.). There were some more recent suite-type hotels next to the Days Inn, which were probably more pricey.

Unfortunately, the Days Inn looks to be 30-40 years old. It's a classic two-story hotel, with outside entrances along a junky hallway. I was mostly worried about crime, not so much the area, but the fact that this hotel was run-down. The rooms were *ok*.

Continental breakfast was so bad it was funny. How can anyone screw up continental breakfast? They put out small blueberry muffins and plastic-enclosed honey buns. OK. Two overripe bananas dared anyone to try them. The cereal dispenser had Fruit Loops (empty) and Corn Flakes (stale). The jug of milk sat on the table with no ice. The orange juice dispenser emitted a watery substance (not OJ!). Ditto the apple juice dispenser. What about the two coffee urns? They were empty. This was 8am! The front desk had never bothered to make any.

Bottom line. It's cheap. It's run-down. If you have a bunch of twenty-somethings looking to crash cheaply, it's probably ok. If you're a family, look elsewhere. And definitely locate a Waffle House...
