My mom, sister, and I stayed at the Best Western Fredericksburg over Mother's Day weekend this year. Even though Fredericksburg is a popular tourist location, it's 2 hours from the nearest major city so I figured any hotel we found (name brand or otherwise) would be old and of just fair quality. I was wrong! The Best Western Fredericksburg is fairly new (less than 5 years old I believe) and about a miles from downtown.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly elderly man and his wife who were working the desk. Check-in was fairly quick and our room was large and clean. I really liked the country/rustic decor of the hotel. The front porch was filled with rocking chairs, and the lobby had rocking chairs and couches to sit on. Also, there was plenty to choose from at the complementary continental breakfast each morning.
Another nice surprise: with it being a holiday weekend, we expected the nightly rate to be increased over "normal," but it was not. This was not true of other hotels we had looked at.
I would stay here again.
