Our stay was very pleasant at the gasthaus of the Dad Keidel B&B. I was travelling with three of my girlfriends and the bedroom loft upstairs with the pull out queen sofa downstairs suited us all comfortably! We spent most of our time shopping, tasting wine, and exploring the town so it's location was perfect for us. When we arrived at the house around 7pm, we were unable to find sheets for the sleeper sofa. I called Fred and he quickly came over to unlock the linen closet and set up the sofa bed for us! Gloria prepared a wonderful breakfast for us in the main house the next morning. We definitely felt like part of the family and would stay here again!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Keidel Inn! There were 8 of us and there was plenty of room for all us to spread out and visit or go off and be alone. The decor was beautiful and the host and hostess were the best part. The lovliest of people- feed us superb and gave us great info about the town , stores and restauants. Only one request from the eldest in our group- she would have liked safety strips in the tub upstairs.

My husband and I stayed at Das Keidel Inn for our second anniversary. Fred and Gloria were very friendly and hospitable, and made some amazing breakfast! The inn itself is well-maintained and has tasteful antique decor, which is not over-the-top ( If you are looking for a B&B with tons of flowered fabrics, flowered wallpaper, or doilies everywhere, this is not the place for you).

We stayed in the Rhine suite downstairs, which has its own entrance off the veranda, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower is pretty small, so larger men might have to stoop, and the water pressure is low. I'm not sure if that is due to a clogged shower head or just the water line itself, but it makes rinsing off all the lather a bit time-consuming. The room is equipped with a coffeemaker and coffee, cups, creamer, etc, as well as wine glasses, a TV, and a mini-fridge, which are great finishing touches which help make your stay more comfortable.

Overall, we had no problems whatsoever. Gloria was very willing to give suggestions on where to eat or shop, and also knew the history of the inn and the founding of Fredericksburg, which was great. We highly recommend Das Keidel Inn, and are already trying to decide when we will be returning!

We booked online and didn't get a confirmation. Our hosts somehow didn't get the online registration. So a little glitch there, but happily they were able to accomodate us. The Rhine Suite is comfortable and attractive. The bed is incredibly comfortable. I would give this Inn an excellent rating based on the bed, location, wonderful breakfasts and the very, very nice owners..Fred and Gloria. The small detractor: the Rhine Suite's bathroom is cruise ship sized without a bathtub and has peeling wallpaper. However, right alongside the Rhine Suite is the house's bathroom with a tub, so that's available and does somewhat overcome this issue. Fred had told us that the other party sharing the house was a group of women; Friday night was pretty loud. Thankfully, the group of ladies was very nice and my husband and I had lots of wine with dinner on Sat. night, so it was okay. Note to self: always ask who the other guests are and when the owners tell you its a "girls' getaway group" understand what that means. We would definately go back to Das Keidel...next time we'll phone in our reseveration.
