“Ella's Haus”

A long-time friend and I stayed in the Absolute Charm Ella's Haus in Fredericksburg, TX. I found this B&B quite by accident on the internet, but didn't know anyone who had actually stayed there. The house was exactly as depicted on the website. So quite and serene, so charming, cozy and comfortable. The decor is so lush and inviting, and all of our needs were tended to. I would recommend this house for up to a party of four, provided two of the four are smaller children. It's a little small for four adults. I'm going back to Fredericksburg in June, 2008 and will definitely look into another Absolute Charm B&B. Thanks Absolute Charm for a wonderful stay.

“Wonderful Weekend at the Queen Anne B&B”

My fiance and I stayed in the Aspen Room at the Queen Anne B&B over Easter weekend. The house was so beautiful! I had already seen pictures of the house and room from the web site, but being there in person was even better. From the cute front porch area, to the elegant dining room, to the rustic kitchen.....it was all perfect. The backyard has a huge deck area, where we relaxed after dinner. There was also a hot tub in the backyard, but we did not use it. Maybe next time!

The Aspen Room boasts the largest bathroom in the B&B with a jacuzzi tub. There is no standing shower, but there is a handheld shower spray in the tub. I really appreciated having extra room in the bathroom, especially with the bench, so that we could place our luggage somewhere. The room itself has a wall-mounted plasma television, which was a big plus! We also enjoyed the comfort of the sleep number bed. In addition, our room has a door that gives you direct access to the backyard/deck area, so that was convenient as well.

Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. The food was delicious, and the cooking/cleaning staff was so nice and helpful. Our room was next to the kitchen, so I could hear breakfast being prepared very early in the morning. My fiance did not really appreciate the noise, since he prefers to sleep in, but it was helpful for me so I did not miss breakfast!

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and are looking forward coming back to the Queen Anne or trying out another Absolute Charm property.

“Loved the Chardonnay Hideaway”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Chardonnay Hideaway! The accomodations were just what we were looking for; perfect for a couple looking to relax. The "Hideaway" is itself a small building with a private patio. This B&B opened in Feb 2008, so everything is crisp and new. The driveway is a little tricky if you are driving a sedan, but with careful maneuvering you can manage. The Hideaway is in a GREAT location, not even 1 block off the Main Street. You can walk to all shops, restaurants, etc. in a matter of minutes. There is a bar with live music right behind the Hideaway. We loved this feature, but if you are looking for quiet, the live music may bother some. It is very comfortable and we will go back!

“Lovely cottages in Fredericksburg”

Absolute Charm Bed & Breakfast

28 Mar 2008

We stayed in one of the Absolute Charm cottages while on a visit to Federicksburg during the fall. The properties are very nice and provide comfortable accommodations. You can choose from rooms in the Mansion or individual cottages. We were very pleased and will return.

“Nice, but lacking in privacy”

We stayed in Suite Savannah in the Victorian Mansion.

There were two issues that will probably prevent us from staying here again: lack of privacy/very noisy (this was a huge deal to us); and below average breakfasts (noticeable, but not the end of the world).

We could understand every single word of the conversations our neighboring guests were carrying on--whether they were in their room next door or on the porch outside. The seating area of the porch couldn't have been more than two feet from the master bed--and the walls and windows didn't keep anything out. We can only imagine that those guests could also hear everything we said, so we tried to speak very softly throughout the weekend.

We were too late to make breakfast at Java Ranch (one of the two breakfast voucher options), so we got lunch. It was only OK. On Sunday morning we tried Andy's Diner. The Buffet was horrible. It wasn't worth it--free or not!

Oh, and the pillows were a little uncomfortable. And it is pretty close to a somewhat noisy street.

Other than those issues, our stay was great. Huge bathtub with jets, nice place, lots of room.

We wouldn't stay here again. For $225/night, I expect a better experience.

Just read the review, and I'm disappointed these guests never contacted us during or after their stay to tell us they weren't completely satisfied. We try to make things as perfect as possible but can't when we don't know there's a problem. I will say Suite Savannah has been one of our most popular rooms, and this is the first noise complaint I have received. We have numerous other completely private cottages (though not nearly as large as the 1100 square feet Suite Savannah!) to which we could have moved them.

As to breakfast, we have given over 2000 gift certificates, and this is only the second time someone hasn't liked the restaurants. (We actually thought it was a positive that, if you sleep in, one of the restaurants will honor the certificate for lunch.) However, even 2 complaints is too many in our book! So we have set appointments with three other restaurants to add them to our selections. I only wish these guests had let us know they weren't 100% happy so we could have made things right. No one is perfect, but perfection will always remain our goal at Absolute Charm!
