The cabana's at 9B are like having your own little beach house. I loved the size, furniture, deck and sounds of nature. The only thing I missed was a bath tub which I love to have on vacation. I loved no TV, no stereo (there is a small clock radio) no in-room phone, the cell phones were perfect to have. The room is very child friendly if you are traveling with a toddler, our 1 year old had a ball in the room and on the deck. The resort does need to fix/update the small things - closet door kept falling off its track, shower curtain was ripped and double doors to the deck had rusted out hinges and locks.
The views were amazing, I could see the ocean from my bed and the sunset view was breathtakingly beautiful. I would have chosen the sunrise view if I knew I had a choice, as my son is up at the crack of dawn and it would have been nice to have the sun in the room each morning. We did smell the farm nearby when we passed the cabins at the front but we requested one away from the farm and would strongly suggest to be safe you ask for a guarantee of the same.
I did not like the food, dinner was terrible, lunch was ok but everything was oversalted. Breakfast was included but they need to step up the quality. I could only eat the croissants, cereal and fruit (which could have been fresher). They need organic options too especially for the kids. There is a great market down the road which has alot of organic choices.
The beaches - I did not see any pink sand and agree that there was alot of seaweed, not floating, but growing just off shore so that I didn't want to walk out too far. If you are going to Bermuda for the pink sand beaches and the crystal clear blue water know that you have to go off the resort to the south shore beaches, which is expensive by cab and long by bus, so if you can't rent a scooter (like us with a 1 year old) then consider something else. There were also alot of pointy gray rocks on the water edge so I had trouble with my 1 year old playing there. He did much better at Elbow Beach were the sand is sooooo soft , and there are no rocks/seaweed and the break is smooth and flat. Also for kids the playground is a disappointment, very small and minimal for the young ones. Go to the Warick Beach playground, crowded but great.
For the older kids there was so much for them to explore. The 9 different alcove beaches, a big climbing island/rock, snorkeling, kayacks, picnic benches and a very relaxed atmosphere. The small pool is very clean and nice too. I was disappointed Dark and Stormy's was not opened yet. If you have ever stayed at Hurricane Cove in Nevis 9B is very similair, although the cabanas are tents and not wood but they are very sturdy and really give you that next to nature feel while still being very comfortable.
