We arrived in reus and were greeted by Thomas cook reps who did a good job at organising our transfer. On arrival at the hotel we managed to go straight to our room (others before us hadn't been so lucky!) the room was basic but clean and the air con was good. We had a view over the pool which was good during the day but at night the entertainment meant we didn't get to sleep until it stopped at midnight. Noises from the rooms above and next to us could also be heard so it was never particularly peaceful! The food at the hotel was not too bad, however, we did not like the seating system of sitting with strangers but the supervisor at the restaurant was understanding and allowed us to sit at our own table. The breakfast buffet had a good variety but was not of a very high standard (especially as the hotel is considered 4 star!!) the dinner buffet was much better with different meat dishes each evening. On the downside, the waiters at the restaurant were not very polite and often seemed unwilling to help or serve drinks, they didn't seem very happy in their jobs. The pool area was really pleasant and we thought at first it looked too crowded but we never had a problem with getting a sun bed. We were disappointed with several hidden costs that at most 4 star hotels would have been included in the price of the holiday.. In order to get a key to the safe you had to pay 27 euros, ten of which you got back. We thought this was ridiculous so instead locked our things away in our suitcase. You also had to pay money to get the fridge to be connected again we thought this was not great and decided against paying. We paid 20 euros for the Internet for the week which wasn't too bad but the connection wasn't always that strong but was probably worth it so that we could get info about places to go etc. The location of the hotel is perfect- close to the beach, local transports and restaurants. We were offered by Thomas cook the chance to go to Barcelona for 32 euros each but actually it's worth walking the 20 minutes to the train station where return tickets to Barcelona are 15 euros each which is what we did and worked well because we weren't restricted by pick up times etc. We took up the offer of a complimentary trip from Thomas cook to montblanc which is a medieval Spanish town which was pretty however before hand we had a very strange talk from a woman about beds and mattresses which hadn't been in the itinery! But the town was nice so was probably worth it! Overall the hotel was satisfactory and provided a good base for the week but we probably would not return as it was a bit rough around the edges and was definitely not a four star hotel!
