Having chosen this hotel fromTripadvisor reviews we were not disappointed. Bar is a wondeful friendly place, rooms are clean and fuctional with the extra bonus of a balcony to every room. shower worked excellently nothing needed repair or attention. Peter (from Sweden originally but colloquial in English and Spanish) was very obliging and gave good advice, provided extra pillows etc..
Breakfast in the hotel is fine for me (toast juice and coffee) but for a real treat go to the Churroseria just round the corner in the morning and have their fresh cooked Churros (doughnut) with hot chocolate (really thick like melted chocolate) for dipping.
We asked for a good restaurant with local food and were directed to Meson del Rey- OK it was not a fish and chip place but could have been better- steak and house wine excellent but vegetables reheated and chips soggy.
Crocodillos just past the beach to the left was excellent international cooking, nothing over the top, but the place was packed on a very quiet evening for every other restaurant which shows how good it is.
Just past Meson del Rey is a little bar El Gallego they served us tapas with beers in the early evening and were immensly friendly but said to come back during the day for their best tapas and snacks "when mama is cooking"!!
We went along the West coast to Valdemosa, spent a day in Palma, visited Pollensa and Alcudia, took ther triain form Palma to Soller. All these trips are strongly recommended.
We paid £65 in total for a double room for 3 nights, £40 each to Ryanair and £45 for a hire car for 3 full days.
The hotel is a bit noisy at times but for the summer there is an excellent pool area at the back. We loved our room 212 away from the road with the balcony shaded by a palm tree.

“Cheap, Basic but does what it says on the tin!”

Golf Beach Hotel

We booked very last minute to stay here with flyglobespan flying from aberdeen, and it was under £400 for the pair of us including transfers and breakfast , so we weren't expecting anything fantastic.

The Golf Beach is a basic small hotel but has all the things you need on a cheap sunshine break. It is situated a very small walk (couple of minutes) from the main hustle and bustle, I always think this is great as there's nothing worse than too much noise! We arrived early evening and were greeted by one of the two males who run the hotel. Seemed pleasant enough, gave us our room keys and took a small sum for use of the safety deposit boxes. We had room 202, second floor facing the front, I would recommend these front rooms as the balconies are MASSIVE and are great for people watching in the evening. The rooms are small but you can manage if you keep tidy! Pillows are sore(!) and sheets a pain but I suppose in July/August they would be fine. Bathroom is again small, but the showers are fantastic, total power showers!

I can't comment on breakfast as its only served until 9am, the middle of the night for us up drinking into the early hours. Didn't eat at the hotel, typical toastie and burger menu - not for me. Drinks were fine though and reasonably priced.

The pool area to the rear of the property was adequate when we were there (April) sometimes we were the only 2 people there! Pool was way too cold for us to go near, although there was people brave enough to go in but for no longer than 30 seconds. Pool area could be doing with being cleaned every morning, there is a bit of an ant problem.

Santa Ponsa is a lovely clean resort with a huge population of scottish and irish, making it a bloody good laugh too! I would recommend you take the bus to Palma city for the day, if only to see how the other half live on their yachts. TIP don't go down the main bus station from the hotel as the buses are often full and you have to wait ages, come out the hotel, turn right, cross the road and walk 2 minutes up the way. The busses stop here first before going to the main busstop! 2 euros 65 get you to Palma.

Also the chinese buffett across from the hotel is great value for money and the food is good (especially the soups!)

This a lovely little hotel, very clean and better than some hotels I was in. Peter and Tony (the staff) were great and made our 14 night stay very enjoyable. They will always try their best to help with anything. Only downside was the lack of air con in the rooms, very warm and very difficult to sleep but otherwise a nice place

“Santa Ponsa's Little Treasure”

Golf Beach Hotel

1 Jan 2008

Although we now own our own apartment in Santa Ponsa, during our many months of searching we had been given a reccommendation to stay at the Golf Beach.

It's great value for money and the hosts (Peter and Tony) gave us great advice on places to eat and places to avoid when considering our purchase.

The hotel is very clean and although not entirely soundproof is all you could want for a short stay, especially if you're if staying as I have done with a group of golfers.

Great hotel, great service, clean rooms. Don't hesitate to book it.

“Great Hotel”

Golf Beach Hotel

20 Nov 2007

I booked the Golf Beach after seeing the great reviews on Trip Advisor. It was exactly as described! I stayed there with my two daughters aged 15 and 12. The down side to our holiday was that the weather wasn't that great and many bars and restaurants had already closed before we arrived and closing whilst we were there, so limited choices for eating out, particularly as we are vegetarian. The staff were friendly but the breakfast isn't really worth getting out of bed for - 7.30 to 9.30 am - quite early. Whilst I was there I didn't see any evidence of bar snacks being prepared or a menu to choose from. However, the hotel was closing the day after we left (1 November) so maybe they had suspended this service.

In summary, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
