Having chosen this hotel fromTripadvisor reviews we were not disappointed. Bar is a wondeful friendly place, rooms are clean and fuctional with the extra bonus of a balcony to every room. shower worked excellently nothing needed repair or attention. Peter (from Sweden originally but colloquial in English and Spanish) was very obliging and gave good advice, provided extra pillows etc..
Breakfast in the hotel is fine for me (toast juice and coffee) but for a real treat go to the Churroseria just round the corner in the morning and have their fresh cooked Churros (doughnut) with hot chocolate (really thick like melted chocolate) for dipping.
We asked for a good restaurant with local food and were directed to Meson del Rey- OK it was not a fish and chip place but could have been better- steak and house wine excellent but vegetables reheated and chips soggy.
Crocodillos just past the beach to the left was excellent international cooking, nothing over the top, but the place was packed on a very quiet evening for every other restaurant which shows how good it is.
Just past Meson del Rey is a little bar El Gallego they served us tapas with beers in the early evening and were immensly friendly but said to come back during the day for their best tapas and snacks "when mama is cooking"!!
We went along the West coast to Valdemosa, spent a day in Palma, visited Pollensa and Alcudia, took ther triain form Palma to Soller. All these trips are strongly recommended.
We paid £65 in total for a double room for 3 nights, £40 each to Ryanair and £45 for a hire car for 3 full days.
The hotel is a bit noisy at times but for the summer there is an excellent pool area at the back. We loved our room 212 away from the road with the balcony shaded by a palm tree.
